Michelle Young and her boyfriend, Jack Leius, are finally revealing how they met each other for the first time.

After her stint on The Bachelorette season 18 and The Bachelor season 25 didn’t work out how she hoped, Young left the reality shows hoping to find love outside the screen. She even documented her journey of getting back into dating via social media.

Finally, in October 2023, she went public with her relationship with her now-boyfriend. Since then, fans of the TV personality have been witnessing their loving journey. The love birds’ togetherness has also strengthened, with them moving together in early 2024.

Now, on Monday, March 11, 2024, Young and Leius have come forward with how they first met. The couple shared the story of their first meeting via TikTok when Young posted a video where she and her boyfriend were seen doing face masks.

In the caption of her TikTok video, she wrote, “The story of how we met” alongside a heart emoji. Likewise, Young started the video by saying, “This is long overdue, but we are going to finally talk about how we met.”

Leius said, “One day over the summer, Michelle was at a rodeo and I saw her on one of our mutual friend’s Instagram stories, and I felt this massive urge to slide up. So I DMed him and… I said, ‘Man, I would really love if you could introduce me to your friend Michelle.’”

“And the next day, he showed her my Instagram,” he added. “Meanwhile, I happened to be at this Vikings bootcamp with some of my friends and the person who asked to introduce us was the brother of one of my best friends,” Young chimed in.

“I jokingly asked Garrett if he knew anyone who’s single and said that the dating apps are absolutely horrid… He said, ‘Actually, have I ever introduced you to Jack?’” the reality TV star added to her statement.

Leius, whose age is 26, returned to the conversation to mention that he had also reached out to their mutual friend, Garrett, a day before; however, neither Young nor Leius was aware that they were interested in one another.

Young continued, “I didn’t know about any of this and we didn’t learn about this until about two or three weeks into our relationship. I thought I had asked to be introduced to him and he thought he had asked to be introduced to me.”

“And when Garrett told me about Jack, he showed me a picture and I just started blushing for some reason. We ended up meeting that night and within 10 minutes of meeting, he put his phone number in my phone.”

“I was supposed to go out of town the next day, but I canceled my trip because I just wanted to spend more time with him,” Young stated. Leius then shared that he and Young ultimately spent that whole weekend together.

Young concluded her video by saying, “We hung out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, then he asked me to be his girlfriend on Sunday. It was like the invisible string theory about all the different places that we’ve been at the exact same time and now he can’t get rid of me.”

Previously, Young’s boyfriend had also spoken briefly about meeting his now-girlfriend during his January 2024 appearance on the Almost Famous podcast. During that appearance, Leius shared the details the duo stated in their TikTok video.

He stated, “She has a good friend and her friend has a little brother, who I know, and her friend’s little brother posted Michelle in his [Instagram] Story and so I kinda just hit him up a couple times. Like, ‘Hey man, when are you gonna introduce me to Michelle?’”

Young was also on the podcast, and later in that episode, she stated, “We went through breakups at the exact same time. We were going through devastating breakups [and] we were in the same stage of our breakups…”

“…as we were going through ‘Not ready met someone’ [to] ‘Ready to meet somebody’ and then those few steps back. We go to all the same bars … the lake he grew up on, my family fishes [there] 24/7,” she added.

Moreover, during the couple’s January 2024 interview with People Magazine, Young and Leius spoke about how they are proud of their love story. Young also revealed that there were only green flags about her boyfriend.

She stated, “My mom and my dad genuinely love him so much. My family loves him so much. My nephews love him so much, and it’s just been a really easy transition. And they always say love’s supposed to be easy.”

Young’s relationship with Leius is her first since ending her engagement with Nayte Olukoya. They parted ways in June 2022, six months after the finale of The Bachelorette season 18. In October 2023, she began dating her now-boyfriend, and they’ve been together since.
