Netflix is constantly releasing new movies and series on its platform.

There are many new episodes and seasons of more seasoned programs to look forward to that are streaming exclusively on Netflix starting this month, even though the list of April’s top shows includes these brand-new titles.

Here are our top seven series coming to Netflix in April 2023.

April 13 — ‘Florida Man’

Cast: Clark Gregg, Anthony LaPaglia, Paul Schnieder, Emory Cohen, Lex Scott Davis, Otmara Merrero, and Lauren Bulioli.

Detective Mike Valentine was born and raised in Florida. He escaped the state he had always loathed a long time ago.

But now, he has to return to the place he always detested after building a successful profession as a detective and a secure life in Philadelphia. Valentine is tasked with locating a mobster’s lover who has vanished in the marshy state of Florida after being hired by the shady man from Philadelphia.

In order to complete what should be a straightforward task, Valentine embarks on a heroic quest that quickly spins out of hand and leaves him stuck amid the tourist-heavy streets and mangrove wetlands.

Florida Man is a humorous ride, with a well—written narrative. The violence is not very violent and there are not many obscene scenes.

All of the main characters—including the antagonist—are likable, and despite the fact that he’s a violent psychopath, he still manages to evoke pity. All in all, the entire series is an easy yet fun watch.

April 20 — ‘The Diplomat’

Cast: Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, Ato Essandoh, Miguel Sandoval, Nana Mensah, Michael McKean, Pearl Mackie, Celia Imrie, and Penny Downie.

Kate Wyler is an excellent diplomat who excels even during times of difficulty. She is the new American ambassador to the United Kingdom and has to go to Afghanistan.

On one continent, war is raging, and it’s about to break out on another. While attempting to hold onto her marriage to fellow career diplomat and political star Hal Wyler, Kate will have to alleviate global crises, establish strategic ties in London, and get used to her new position in the limelight.

The critics have lauded the show and have given it 93% Rotten Tomatoes. According to them, The Diplomat is an intriguing retelling of the classic political drama that portrays Americans and Brits in a less than favorable light.

Regardless, it is a witty and smart series with a top-notch cast, the narrative is intricate, the pace is quick, and the binge-ability factor is strong.

April 21 — ‘Indian Matchmaking’ Season 3

A judgemental moms’ group is where warm, devoted PR worker Kate and her lifelong friend, no-nonsense psychiatrist Anne, meet reticent IT specialist Jenny and naive real estate agent Frankie.

The four immediately develop an unexpected relationship as they fight with the turmoil of urban motherhood with toddlers, tantrums, careers, and identity issues while pursuing the holy grail — a sense of self.

The series has a surprising amount of weird humor that surprises you and comes across as new and original. The tensions between stay-at-home and working mothers are made fun of in this comedy.

However, Workin’ Moms also addresses how challenging it may be to balance various obligations while feeling the pressure to be the ideal conventional mother. Although brief and pleasant, the episodes are binge-worthy.

As they learn more about their pasts and potential futures in Season 2, the gang makes an effort to escape General Abbott’s prison. Gus enlists Jepperd’s help and embarks on a perilous search for his mother, but their voyage is fraught with difficulties and potentially fatal risks.

Gus, Jepperd, and their pals discover that there is more to their planet than they ever imagined as they navigate a hostile environment that is home to violent groups, hybrid monsters, and erratic weather.

Sweet Tooth, a sweet coming-of-age tale enveloped in post-apocalyptic sadness, addresses its terrible circumstances with kindness and sincerity. Sweet Tooth is particularly intriguing as it poses concerns about what kind of future lies ahead for us following an enormous and communal loss.

Hansen first appears to be one of a kind, liked by everyone, amazing at her profession, and always the first on the scene in an emergency. However, as the days pass and Kurzmann becomes more accustomed to her surroundings, she gradually begins to realize that Hansen could be more than meets the eye.

The Nurse is based on Kristian Corfixen’s novel of the same name, which tells the true story of one of Scandinavia’s most famous criminal trials. The series is based on the actual account of a Danish nurse who was found guilty of attempting to kill four patients.

Danish police initiate an inquiry after receiving reports of a murderous nurse on the loose at Nykbing Falster Hospital, and shortly after, staff members speculate that one of their own could actually be poisoning people.

Is Teresa Giudice Pregnant? Behind The Pregnancy Rumors

Ever since Teresa Giudice started dating her second husband, Luis Ruelas, there have been rumors of her being pregnant with his child.

Teresa already has four children with her first husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Giudice. She started dating Ruelas after divorcing Joe in 2020.

They got engaged in October 2021 and officially married in August 2022. Pregnancy rumors have surrounded Guidice since 2020.

While The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) star has constantly denied the rumors, the question never stops following her —  ‘Is Teresa Giudice pregnant?’

Here is all we know about it.

Is Teresa Giudice Pregnant?

At the time of writing, it is unknown if Teresa is pregnant or not. Regardless of the pregnancy rumors, the RHONJ star has not confirmed nor denied the rumors at the time of writing.

But looking at her social media, it seems like she is not pregnant at the moment. Her most recent post on Instagram was on May 30, 2023, where she wore a bikini and showed off her body in Puerto Rico.

She did not look pregnant, as she did not have a baby bump in the photo. Therefore, it is possible that she is not pregnant at the moment.

This is not the first time pregnancy rumors have surrounded the reality TV star. Back in November 2021, fans suspected that Teresa was expecting after she uploaded a picture with Ruelas.

Ruelas was cradling Teresa’s midriff, leading people to believe that the RHONJ star was pregnant. However, she was not expecting a baby, and it was mere speculation of her fans and followers.

Teresa Giudice’s children

Teresa shares four children with her former husband, Joe. Teresa and Joe married in 1999 and divorced after 20 years of marriage in 2020.

Throughout their marriage, the pair had four daughters —  Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana. Gia was born on January 8, 2001, Gabriella on October 4, 2004, Milania on February 2, 2006, and Audriana on September 14, 2009.

Gia was eight years old when RHONJ debuted, and she has been in front of the cameras ever since. She is most known for a viral clip that has been making rounds on TikTok since 2020.

Gia, aged 10, sang an original song for her family about the challenges her mother and uncle were dealing with at the time in season 3. Years later, the video emerged on TikTok, and the lyrics, “waking up in the morning, thinking about so many things,” became viral.

Gia is a recent Rutgers University graduate who studied criminal justice and hopes to become a lawyer. After graduating from Rutgers in May 2023, Teresa posted about the milestone on Instagram.

She wrote, “I am so proud of my devoted and intelligent daughter, Gia, for graduating [from] a stellar university, a huge milestone to accomplish in life. Seeing you graduate college is one of the most special moments in my life.”

Gabriella, Teresa’s second daughter, appears to be more private than the rest of her family since she lacks a prominent social media presence. Teresa told PEOPLE in 2016 that her then-11-year-old daughter aspired to be a professional football player or a model.

Years later, Teresa told The Daily Dish that Gabriella was looking at universities before her final year of high school.

It seems like Milania, Teresa’s third daughter, will be following in her mother’s footsteps into the entertainment industry. When she was just 10 years old,  Milania was interviewed by PEOPLE in 2016.

At the time, Milania said she and her friend had always wanted to be actresses and make YouTube videos. The same year, she walked the runway at New York Fashion Week.

In 2019, she released her debut single, ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Grow Up.’ The RHONJ star talked about the song and gushed, “I think the song is so catchy! I really think it’s going to be a No. 1!,” in an episode of RHONJ.

At the time of writing, Audriana is 13 years old, and not much is known about her. She suffered greatly when her father was imprisoned and eventually deported to Italy.

Teresa and Gia said in 2019 that Audriana, then nine years old, was tormented and bullied at school because of her father. Talking about Audriana’s interests, she is a competitive dancer and is interested in the entertainment industry.

Teresa said of her daughter, “She likes the cameras too. And Audriana was born in front of the cameras.”

Alexa Demie to Reprise Her ‘Euphoria’ Role in Sam Levinson’s ‘The Idol’

After much controversy and talk about The Idol, its first two episodes finally premiered at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 22, 2023.

Directed by Sam Levinson, The Idol follows Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), an aspiring pop idol who wishes to reclaim her fame. After having a nervous breakdown that caused her last tour to be canceled, she resolves to reclaim her title as America’s sexiest pop star.

As a result, she begins a complicated relationship with Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a self-help guru and the leader of a contemporary cult. Much information about the show was revealed after the premiere.

One of them is Alexa Demie making a cameo on the show by reprising her role as Maddy Perez from Euphoria.

Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez in ‘The Idol’

Levinson is the mastermind behind Euphoria since he created and wrote the series. Euphoria follows a group of teens in the fictional town of East Highland, California, as they search for optimism while dealing with the stresses of love, grief, and addiction.

Some of the issues discussed on Euphoria are the same as that of The Idol like drug abuse, social media, toxic relationships, drug dealing, codependency, toxic positivity, rape, sexual assault, hookup culture, and dating violence, among others.

Therefore, it is not a surprise that Levinson wants to create his own universe like that of Marvel and DC. After it was confirmed that Demie’s character, Perez, would appear on the show, Levinson revealed that Euphoria and The Idol happen in the same universe.

Demie appears in The Idol as a woman at the club where Jocelyn and Tedros first meet. Despite the fact that she plays a minor role in the plot, it will be a memorable throwback for Euphoria fans who may be watching this series anticipating something similar.

Unfortunately, not much information regarding her cameo or the role her character plays in the tale has been provided. She may return in the later half of the program, but viewers must wait until the season premieres to find out.

Demie plays the role of Perez in Euphoria and likely The Idol. She is recognized for her outspoken and confident demeanor, and she is generally considered self-assured and fearless to express herself.

Perez is said to have a strong sense of style and is frequently spotted wearing beautiful and bold clothing. She has a complicated and turbulent relationship with her boyfriend, Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), who is also a significant character in the series.

Their relationship has ups and downs, including episodes of manipulation, deception, and violence. Despite their difficulties, Perez stays emotionally involved in their relationship.

Perez is shown as a devoted friend who is frequently seen supporting her small group of friends, particularly the main character, Rue Bennett (Zendaya). She is also renowned for her fiery attitude and often combative demeanor.

Overall, Perez, a character of enormous depth in the highly acclaimed television series, emerges as a fascinating combination of confidence and vulnerability. She is portrayed with complexity and depth and captivates spectators with her bold approach, unusual style, and turbulent relationships.

The reviews of ‘The Idol’

Ever since its premiere, The Idol is receiving negative reviews, to say the least. Before the premiere, Rolling Stone ran an expose on the series in March 2023.

According to the article, the initial tone and subject of the screenplay had altered, and instead of being focused on a woman’s quest to restore her own agency, it had allegedly devolved into a demeaning narrative bordering on torture porn.

Moreover, there were some really troublesome occurrences on-site. However, The Weeknd and Depp defended the show and Levinson.

Levinson was also criticized for his view. Many complained that he oversexualizes and victimizes the female characters in his shows —  as evident in Euphoria.

Regardless, people were giving it the benefit of the doubt. But now, after the premiere of two episodes, the critics are being brutally honest about the show.

Critics are not happy with the presentation of the show, claiming that it is extremely sexualized. They noted that The Idol supports male fantasy which degrades women.

The series has also been called misogynistic and predatory in nature. Initially, The Idol debuted with 20% on Tomatometer of Rotten Tomatoes.

But at the time of writing, it has 9% on Tomatometer with 11 reviews. The critics’ consensus reads, “Every bit as florid and sleazy as the industry it seeks to satirize, The Idol places itself on a pedestal with unbridled style but wilts under the spotlight.”

Looking at the decrease in Tomatometer, it won’t be a surprise if it decreases more from 9% after more reviews come in.
