Adin Ross Issues Apology after Facing Backlash for His ‘Transphobic Rant’ on Kick

Adin Ross has been in his fair share of controversies to date.
He does not hesitate to make homophobic and transphobic comments on platforms like Twitter, Twitch, and Kick. In fact, he has been banned from Twitch for spewing hateful content on the platform.
Since then, he has been streaming on Kick, an Amazon-owned streaming platform. He signed a big deal with them and was even called a “poster boy” of the platform.
However, Ross did not stop making homophobic and transphobic rants while streaming on Kick. Recently, he was forced to apologize for his statements.

Ross was reacting to a teacher giving lessons about non-binary pronouns while streaming in late March. However, he went off on a tangent and started criticizing individuals who use other pronouns.
He even declared that his pronouns were “kill/them.” Soon, the streamer was faced with massive backlash.
The community was outraged by Ross’s “transphobic rant,” with many denouncing the popular streamer. A Twitter user utilized their platform to call out Ross shortly after the video of his pronoun statements went viral, and fans learned that Kick liked the post.
The tweet, written by Twitch streamer @mittenskittens, criticized Ross for his transphobic rant and tagged Kick. Users noticed that Kick liked the tweet just hours later, and it is still liked at the time of writing.
People found it by searching through Kick’s list of liked tweets, with one user tweeting a screenshot that has been seen over 60,000 times.
The tweet soon gained popularity, with many individuals replying “W” in the responses, implying that Kick believes Ross is wrong for making such comments. Similarly, many demanded an apology from Ross and even asked Kick to ban him from the platform.
Finally, Ross addressed the problem on April 1, 2023, when he went live to issue an apology. While everyone expected an apology, the Kick star, in his own words, “apologized for absolutely [expletive] nothing.”
But, he soon backtracked and apologized before emphasizing how he would be more careful with his words in the future. He said that the world was crazy, and he would slow down when he would instruct “someone to do anything, like kill or threaten.”
“I would never in any type of way want anyone to ever harm themselves or do something violent with something that I’ve said. So, I’m going to be cautious on that end,” he concluded.
Adin Ross’s controversies
Following the arrest of influencer Andrew Tate in Romania on December 29, 2022, five persons, including Ross, were permitted to see Tate in custody. He stated that he was traveling to Romania but was denied entry by the Romanian authorities.
He tweeted to Joe Biden to pardon Tate. Tate is a controversial figure, but Ross remains committed to him.
Ross was also embroiled in a Twitch “hot-tub stream” dispute with prominent streamer Amouranth, which sparked some fan outrage. He was banned from Twitch on April 10, 2021, after YouTuber Zias accepted a phone call and called Ross a slur.

Ross attempted to defend himself against the ban by telling Twitch employees that he did not speak the phrase and was not in the room then. Twitch clarified that he would be permitted to stream based on this information.
He was banned until April 2021. Ross was banned indefinitely a year later, on April 20, 2022, for using hateful slurs or symbols.
The decision was made in response to video evidence that Ross uttered a homophobic slur during Twitch broadcaster YourRAGE’s live stream. He was later able to start streaming in June 2022.
On February 25, 2023, Ross was banned from Twitch for the eighth time for hateful conduct after displaying his poorly controlled Kick chat on the screen, which was overrun with racist and antisemitic insults.
Ben Potter, known as YouTube star Comicstorian, has sadly passed away.
His wife, Nathalie, confirmed the news of his death at the age of 40 as she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Her message read, “Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.”
“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.”
She further added, “He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else’s. Right now my priority is preserving everything he’s built and I don’t have any plans beyond that.”
On YouTube, Potter mostly created audio dramas of comic books on his Comicstorian account, regularly discussing the Marvel and DC Universes. He shared his last upload, titled “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel,” just a day before his death.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, the Ms. Marvel star took to his Instagram handle to make a joint post with his now-fiancee, announcing that they had gotten engaged in an intimate ceremony with their close family members in attendance.
The newly engaged couple had shared a series of pictures, in which the first photo focused on Sapp’s beautiful diamond engagement ring. Other images from their Instagram post showed moments before and after Lintz’s engagement proposal.
