Megan Moroney Almost Passed Out upon Olivia Rodrigo Fangirling over Her Music
Megan Moroney hopes to collaborate with Olivia Rodrigo in the future.
American singer Megan Moroney almost thought she would pass out upon learning that Olivia Rodrigo loves her music.
During a recent interview held at Hotel Indigo Nashville, Moroney shared insights about her whirlwind year and her concert in Los Angeles.
The singer shared that she feels like over the past year there have been numerous surreal moments, but she truly believes that the highlight of this year has been the tour she has been a part of.
She then went on to express that when she initially embarked on her career as a singer, she had doubts about whether the audience would only resonate with a select few songs from her album.
However, Moroney was pleasantly surprised to find that her fans enthusiastically sang along to every single song at her shows. She added, “My album ‘Lucky’ was released in May, and witnessing them gravitate towards it so quickly, learning all the words, means the world to me.”
Not only did the fans enjoy Moroney’s music, but one fellow musician who had been enjoying Moroney’s songs was Rodrigo. She also attended one of Moroney’s Lucky Tour stops at The Troubadour in L.A.
According to Moroney, a mutual friend introduced Rodrigo to her music, and they soon started communicating through social media. The singer vividly remembers the time when she shared her song ‘Vampire’ on her Instagram story, and to her astonishment, Rodrigo replied, exclaiming, “Oh my gosh, I’m such a fan of your music.”
Moroney was so overwhelmed by this response that she felt like she might pass out, finding it hard to believe that Rodrigo knew of her work.
After engaging in a back-and-forth exchange of messages, Rodrigo expressed her eagerness to attend one of Moroney’s concerts in Los Angeles and assured her that she would be familiar with all the lyrics. In response, Moroney gladly provided her with a ticket for the show.
Following the show, ‘The Tennessee Orange’ singer expressed her excitement to People, emphasizing her delight at Rodrigo’s presence at her concert.
Moroney went on to share that sometimes people simply express their intention to attend, but they don’t follow through. In this case, Rodrigo did, making the moment all the more special for Moroney.
The two quickly formed a strong friendship after their initial in-person meeting. The singer expressed that she had an instant connection with Rodrigo, feeling as though they had known each other for a long time.
Moroney added, “It was just cool to meet someone like that,” highlighting her admiration for Rodrigo’s albums, Sour and Guts, and noting that she is a fan of her work.
She further reflected on the widespread popularity of Rodrigo’s music, saying, “I feel like everyone in the world was such a fan, so to meet her and be like, ‘Wait, we’re friends? Like, we could hang out?'”

Moroney also posted a picture featuring her and Rodrigo on October 14, 2023, accompanied by a caption that read, “So a spicy Pisces & an emo cowgirl walk into a bar.” Upon seeing the post, Moroney’s fans and followers flooded the comments section, expressing their excitement at the potential collaboration.
One enthusiastic individual wrote, “The collab we didn’t know we needed but WE DID,” while another chimed in with, “Need a collab immediately.”
However, as of now, both artists have not made any official announcements about their collaboration in the near future.

His wife, Nathalie, confirmed the news of his death at the age of 40 as she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Her message read, “Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.”
“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for. As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, or even just a stranger, Ben was loving and genuine. He was someone who would listen and make time for his loved ones. He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he’d reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it.”
She further added, “He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family. I have so many things I need to figure out but firstly, I need to grieve. I ask that you respect my privacy as well as everyone else’s. Right now my priority is preserving everything he’s built and I don’t have any plans beyond that.”
On YouTube, Potter mostly created audio dramas of comic books on his Comicstorian account, regularly discussing the Marvel and DC Universes. He shared his last upload, titled “Why DC’s Reboots Beat Marvel,” just a day before his death.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, the Ms. Marvel star took to his Instagram handle to make a joint post with his now-fiancee, announcing that they had gotten engaged in an intimate ceremony with their close family members in attendance.
The newly engaged couple had shared a series of pictures, in which the first photo focused on Sapp’s beautiful diamond engagement ring. Other images from their Instagram post showed moments before and after Lintz’s engagement proposal.
