Hari Nef and her boyfriend, Ludwig Hurtado, have finally revealed that they are dating.

The couple took to their respective Instagram handles to announce their relationship to their fans and followers on the special occasion of Valentine’s Day 2024. Nef uploaded three photos and a video in a carousel where the video was of her kissing her boyfriend.

She captioned the post, “Hold my hand you can hit it while they watch,” to which Hurtado wrote “Love you” in the comment section with a heart suit emoji. A day before Valentine’s Day, on February 13, 2024, Nef celebrated her boyfriend’s birthday and shared it on IG stories.

She posted a short clip in which she kissed him. Along with wishing him on his birthday, she wrote, “I love you so much.” Similarly, Hurtado posted nine photos with Nef with the caption, “b2b ♡ (bae 2 bae).” Moments later, Nef commented, “plugged tf in tbh.”

Likewise, on the same day – Valentine’s Day – Hurtado made another sweet gesture over Twitter. He retweeted a tweet Nef had made back on April 21, 2016. She had posted a meme of a girl and a guy carrying each other while passionately making out.

The caption on the meme read, “A relationship with no gender roles. We both hustle, we both cook, we both meme, we both pay, we both spoil each other.” The actress tweeted this meme with the caption, “Which one of y’all are gonna be my he.”

Eight years later, Nef found her “he,” as Hurtado his girlfriend tweet with the caption, “happy valentines day.” “look at my mind…,” the actress commented under his tweet.

People were very happy for Nef and her boyfriend when they revealed that they were dating. As a result, many congratulated them on their relationship, including celebrities like Rachel Zegler, Julia Fox, Phillip Picardi, and Harry Hill.

The rumors about their relationship started when Hurtado accompanied Nef to the international premiere of Barbie, where Nef played the role of Doctor Barbie. After the event, Hurtado shared photos and videos of himself and Nef from Barbie‘s Pink Carpet Premiere on Instagram, captioned “he’s just Ken.”

This made people believe that he was referring to himself as Ken to Nef, who was a Barbie. Nef herself added fuel to the rumors with a comment, writing, “Well Barbie, we’re just getting started,” with a kissing emoji.

The rumors continued with Nef commenting on Hurtado’s Instagram posts, but she had never confirmed that Hurtado was her boyfriend. However, in September 2023, Nef and Hurtado were photographed kissing at the Dion Lee Afterparty, which appeared to confirm that they were in a relationship.

An Instagram user even grabbed the photo of them kissing and shared it on their account. Then, on September 29, 2023, Hurtado tweeted a photo with Nef and presumably confirmed their relationship in his caption.

His caption was in French and said “dinner avec ma cheri,” which roughly translates to “dinner with my darling” in English. Similarly, when Nef attended the Golden Globes in January 2024, Hurtado praised her.

Nef was photographed and videographed on the red carpet, and Flim Updates shared a video on Twitter with the caption, “Hari Nef stuns at the 2024 #GoldenGlobes.” Hurtado it, saying, “When doesn’t she?” with a heart-eye emoji.

They also the JW Anderson show at Padiglione Visconti, Milan, Italy, in late January 2024 and the PUMA event in NYC in February 2024. Even so, the two had never explicitly mentioned that they were dating or in a relationship until February 14, 2024.

James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Sparks Right-Wing Backlash Ahead of Release

James Gunn’s much-anticipated Superman reboot is set to hit theaters on July 11, but the buzz leading up to the release has taken a political turn. In a recent interview, Gunn described Superman as “an immigrant’s immigrant,” reinforcing the character’s longstanding metaphor for hope, kindness, and the American dream. But this framing hasn’t sat well with everyone.

Right-wing commentators and political figures have criticized the film for what they perceive as a “woke” reinterpretation of the superhero. Among them, Fox News contributors and conservative commentators have taken aim at the film, calling it overly ideological. Former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway even predicted it would “bomb worse than Snow White did,” referencing the poorly received Disney remake.

Despite the backlash, Gunn remains firm in his creative direction. “This film is for everyone,” he said, “and it’s about kindness—not politics.” His brother, actor Sean Gunn, also defended the vision, explaining that the film’s message aligns with Superman’s origins as an alien finding belonging on Earth—a narrative deeply rooted in immigration and acceptance.

Early screenings have reportedly received positive feedback, especially for David Corenswet’s performance as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane. Whether the film will rise above the political noise remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Gunn’s Superman is already a cultural flashpoint before its official release.

Lena Dunham, the creator and star of Girls, has spoken out about the harsh scrutiny she’s faced throughout her career, calling the body-shaming in Hollywood “merciless.” In a candid interview with Variety, Dunham reflected on how the criticism persisted no matter what size she was — whether thinner due to illness or simply aging naturally.

“Whether I was a size 4 or a size 16, there were always opinions about my body,” she shared. “Hollywood remains merciless toward body image.”

Dunham revealed that part of her decision to step away from acting was influenced by the toll this scrutiny took on her mental health. While the body positivity movement once gained momentum, she believes it has lost visibility in recent years.

Currently, Dunham is focused on her new series Too Much, where she serves as showrunner and mentor to rising star Megan Stalter. She says protecting her cast from the kind of criticism she endured is a top priority.

“I can handle people coming for me, but I won’t stay quiet when they come for someone just trying to do their job,” she added.

Her words come at a time when Hollywood is again being called to reflect on its standards, its messaging, and how it treats women of all sizes — especially those behind the scenes and in positions of creative power.
