Where Is Lil Tay Today? Truth Behind Her Viral 2023 Video

In 2018, Lil Tay went viral on social media, and everyone was talking about her.

She rose to prominence as a controversial online star by posting videos in which she boasted about allegedly having beautiful houses and automobiles, dropping out of Harvard, and amassing vast sums of money. At the time, her age was nine.

As her account and business evolved, she partnered with emerging rappers and used her outsized on-screen presence to achieve social media fame. Moreover, she was seen smoking a hookah, hanging out with rapper Chief Keef, and dancing with YouTuber Jake Paul.

However, all of a sudden, she disappeared after it was revealed that she was forced to do all of those things by her family. Since then, people have been wondering what happened to Lil Tay and where is Lil Tay today.

Recently, a person who looked like a controversial influencer went viral on TikTok. As a result, many believe that she is Lil Tay.

Where is Lil Tay today in 2023?

Since people have been wondering where Lil Tay has been now in 2023, they snooped around on the internet. As a result, netizens found a TikTok user, @jaaninethahswee.

She looked like Lil Tay, so people naturally believed that she was the grown-up version of Lil Tay. However, the claim was swiftly debunked after Twitter user @JayCartere shared a screenshot of the girl’s TikTok page.

According to the screenshot, the girl, who is assumed to be a grown-up version of Lil Tay, is known on TikTok as Jannine Thahswee. The controversial star’s age is another factual evidence that refutes the notion.

She claimed to be nine years old in 2018. So now, as of 2023, her age would be fourteen.

Even though Thahswee looks similar to Lil Tay, she appears to be considerably older than a 14-year-old. She has around 8000 TikTok followers.

She uploaded a video in 2020 in which she described how she and her partner met and how their love progressed over the course of two years. According to the video, Jannine was in 10th grade two years ago, in 2018, putting to rest any suspicions that this TikToker is not Lil Tay.

What happened to Lil Tay?

Lil Tay rose to notoriety in 2018 after posting dubious videos online in which she boasted about her fortune and regularly used expletives, leaving viewers concerned about the nine-year-vulgar old’s attitude.

Lil Tay’s name became famous because rap legend Eminem revealed it in his ‘Killshot’ diss track against Machine Gun Kelly

That did not concern Lil Tay or her family, as Tay’s mother stated in an interview with Good Morning America that she supports anything her daughter decides to do. Her mother indicated that she would let her follow her dreams.

Jason, her older brother, looked nonchalant about the consequences of his sister’s terrible social media popularity. Other questions were made regarding Lil Tay’s well-being and parenting practices after a video surfaced showing her brother directing her what to say in front of the camera.

In an interview, Lil Tay’s father stated that before his daughter’s social media appearance became famous, he disapproved of most of her actions. He even sought legal advice to prevent his daughter from acting like that.

Her father believed these were damaging her bodily and emotional health and threatening her future. However, her father was also accused of being abusive.

Jason stated their father abandoned the family and only returned to profit off her sister’s internet popularity and money. There were also accusations that the controversial star got caught up in a custody fight between her parents and moved to Canada to live with her father, where her father and stepmother were violent to her.

However, there have been no updates about Lil Tay, and nobody knows what she is up to now.
