Amy Schumer’s Joke on Emily Blunt’s Performance in ‘Oppenheimer’ Enrages Fans

Fans are mad!

Amy Schumer is not new to enraging fans with her jokes and comments, especially about the Hollywood industry.

She recently came under fire for joking about Emily Blunt’s performance in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Blunt played the role of Katherine ‘Kitty’ Oppenheimer in the movie and was critically acclaimed for her role.

Schumer took to Instagram to post a photo of herself wearing a hat and glasses. In the captions, she wrote, “Really enjoyed Barbie and Oppenheimer, but I think I should have played Emily Blunt’s role. Do better Hollywood.”

On the one hand, people went along with the joke and commented how Schumer would make a better Kitty. One person wrote, “Some of ya’ll are forgetting that Amy is a comedian. I’m pretty sure she said all of this in a light-hearted joking way.”

But most of the netizens were enraged by Schumer’s comments and then spoke supporting Blunt in the comment sections.

Many noted that if Schumer had made such jokes about Barbie, it would have been good fun. This was because she was initially supposed to play the role of the doll but did not get to do so because of “creative differences.”

Netizens noted that Schumer was not good or funny enough to be in Barbie, let alone Oppenheimer. Moreover, they noted that Schumer should have simply been happy for Blunt and not criticized her or Hollywood for her role in the critically acclaimed movie.

One person wrote, “Just stop. There’s no way anyone wanted Amy Schumer playing Barbie. She’s deranged,” and another commented, “Who is telling this woman that she has any talent whatsoever? They need to stop.”

Another person noted that she was toxic and wrote, “Toxic energy Amy, toxic energy.” One netizen commented that Schumer often talks about supporting women but did not do the same for Blunt.

“Amy Schumer: I support women but don’t support them. Why go against Emily Blunt?” they wrote.

This is not the first time Schumer has made comments against Blunt. In May 2021, she noted that Blunt’s marriage to her husband, John Krasinski, was a publicity stunt.

She posted an impromptu review of A Quiet Place Part II on Instagram, gushing about the sequel to the 2018 horror picture. Krasinski wrote and directed the picture, which stars his wife Blunt, who reprises her role as Evelyn Abbott.

“I loved every second of @aquietplacemovie even better than the first one which blew me away. Amazing to be in a movie theater!!” Schumer wrote as she posted a photo from the movie.

She then added, “And although I’ve said for a long time I think Emily and John have a pretend marriage for publicity. But I still think you should see it this rainy weekend.”

Schumer also got hate for her review, but Krasinski did not take any offense to her jokes. Instead, he commented, “Thank you Amy!… for blowing up our whole marriage spot.”

At the time of writing, neither Krasinski nor Blunt have made any comments on Schummer’s recent statement about Blunt’s role in Oppenheimer.

Jon Gosselin Is Interested in Returning to TV without His Children

Jon Gosselin, whose full name is Jonathan Keith Gosselin, gained fame for his appearance on the American reality TV show Jon & Kate Plus 8.

He is now eager to return to TV without his children’s involvement. On April 25, 2024, the 47-year-old IT analyst attended the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Clinic opening in West Hollywood, California.

While there, he briefly entertained the guests through his DJing skills and then talked with People Magazine about his possible return to the TV screen soon. During his conversation with the outlet, he mentioned that he had recently met with some TV people.

He stated, “I’ve always been open to television, but I was indemnified by TLC, so I couldn’t sign a contract. But that’s all in the wayside now.” Jon also added that he wanted to make this kind of move only after his children were older.

Speaking of his kids, he said he wants his second TV run to be solo and doesn’t want to involve them again. “I’m not going to involve them and stuff like that as well, no. It’s just like, I worked really hard to get them off TV,” he stated.

However, the reality TV star added that his children have grown up, and whether they want to appear on television depends on them. His statement read, “But they’re adults now—if they want to make their own decision, they can.”

As Jon continued, he shared some brief details on his new show, revealing that the series would be about “DJing, clubbing, and all that kind of stuff.” As of now, he has been DJing for almost a decade, and so far, his children haven’t caught one of his club sets.

He said that the sextuplets are still too young for the 21-and-over venues, and he doesn’t work in New York, where his two children – Mady and Cara – currently reside. However, that’s not the only reason Jon’s children haven’t seen their dad work the DJ table live.

He told People, “I don’t think my kids will see me. They don’t want me acting a fool like, ‘Oh, that’s your dad?’ I’m like, nah. It’s so weird. This is my career.”

Jon then moved to his current personal life. He answered if he wanted to welcome children with his present girlfriend, Stephanie Lebo, as he recently revealed that he is planning to propose to her sometime within the following year.

He answered, “No, I’m 47. She’s 36. Yeah, we just want to enjoy life,” adding that Lebo’s 14-year-old daughter lives with them. “It’s really nice. I’ve never had one kid before, so I’m learning as well,” he continued.

“So it’s very different, but it’s cool to see Collin and Hannah be the big brother and big sister, because they never had that. So they’re mentoring her as well, so it’s very interesting,” he concluded his statement.

Before Jon started dating his current girlfriend, he was previously in a marital relationship with his now-former wife, Kate Gosselin (née Kreider). The formerly married duo met on October 5, 1997, during a company picnic.

They eventually began dating and got married on June 12, 1999. A little over a year later, on October 8, 2000, the now-divorced couple welcomed twin daughters: Cara Nicole Gosselin and Madelyn “Mady” Kate Gosselin.

After welcoming twins, the two were initially against having another child but ultimately decided to try again. On May 10, 2004, Jon and Kate’s family of four expanded into a much bigger one as Kate gave birth to sextuplets.

Among Jon and Kate’s sextuplets were sons Aaden Jonathan Gosselin, Collin Thomas Gosselin, Joel Kevin Gosselin, and daughters Alexis Faith Gosselin, Hannah Joy Gosselin, and Leah Hope Gosselin. The sextuplets were born ten weeks premature.

The formerly married couple’s journey was later filmed for two one-hour specials – Surviving Sextuplets and Twins and Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later – and they initially aired on the Discovery Health Channel before being moved to TLC.

After being picked up by TLC, the one-hour specials became a full-fledged TV show titled Jon & Kate Plus 8. Jon and Kate’s split was announced on the June 22, 2009, episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, and the divorce proceedings were finalized on December 18, 2009.

The court granted Kate primary custody of their eight children and ownership of the family home. Furthermore, following Jon and Kate’s divorce, TLC renamed the show Kate Plus 8, focusing more on Kate as a divorced mother raising the children.

The Bachelor in Paradise alum recently got a new tattoo, which reads, “And then she…” in cursive on the outside of her wrist. When her eagle-eyed fans noticed her new ink, they began asking questions about it and wondered about the meaning behind her latest tattoo.

As many had guessed, her new tattoo also reflects her recent breakup with her now-former boyfriend, Michael Allio. Maltby and Allio began dating during Bachelor in Paradise season 8, and their relationship continued until Allio announced their breakup in September 2023.

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Maltby took to her Instagram handle to share a few pictures flaunting her new tattoo. Through the caption, she decided to answer the fan’s query regarding the meaning behind her tattoo.

“Looking back on all these things that have challenged my story and character arc (go with the analogy here), I just kept leaning into ‘and then what?’ And then what did I do?” Maltby added. She then revealed what she did over the course of the past few months.

She continued in the caption, “And then she… broke. And then she felt everything all at once. And then she found sparks of joy. And then she washed her hair. And then she smiled. And then she made someone else smile. And then she hurt again.”

“And then she thanked god she wasn’t with him. And then she got a new job. And then she moved. And then she started surviving. And then she started thriving. And then she went on vacation alone. And then she found herself.”

“And then she fell in love with everything and herself. And then she shown brighter, and brighter, and brighter. And then she… ??? There’s always an “and then…” to our stories. They’re constantly being written,” Maltby added.

Caity Lotz Is Pregnant, Expecting First Baby with Husband Kyle Schmid

Congratulations are in order for Caity Lotz and her husband, Kyle Schmid, as they are expecting their first baby together.

Rumors of Lotz’s pregnancy were first initiated after her Instagram post on April 11, 2024. She posted a few pictures of herself with her friend, in which she was donning a red bikini at a beach and seemingly hiding her baby bump.

The pregnancy rumors were eventually met with a positive response. On Saturday, April 20, Lotz and Schmid took to their respective Instagram handles to reveal that they were pregnant with their first child. The married couple had shared four identical pictures.

In one picture, Schmid can be seen holding his wife’s growing baby bump as she sits on his lap. In another, the married duo is holding each other’s stomachs. Similarly, they posted a sonogram photo as the fourth picture of their respective Instagram posts.

Lotz captioned her pregnancy announcement, writing, “Gaining weight for the role of a lifetime.” On the other hand, Schmid wrote a bit lengthy caption, starting with, “Never would have thought the woman of my dreams could have become anymore beautiful.”

“Your glow, your shine, you’re going to be the best mom in the world. I can’t wait to be a proud poppa. What a whirlwind of a year!” he concluded his heartfelt caption along with four hashtags: “mommabear,” “poppabear,” “bigpoppa,” and “highfive.”

Following their pregnancy announcement, Lotz’s Arrowverse co-stars – including Candice Patton, Katherine McNamara, Javicia Leslie, Danielle Panabaker, and more – along with many fans filled the comment section with congratulatory messages.

For instance, actress Olivia Swann wrote, “AHHHHHHH congratulations Caity!! Sending huge love to you and Kyle, incredible news,” with actress Jes Macallan commenting, “So beautiful! Can’t wait to love on this baby. Can our littles go to summer camp together when they get older?!”

A couple of days later, on Wednesday, April 24, Lotz took to her Instagram handle to share another picture of herself flaunting her ever-growing baby bump. Along with the photo, she wrote, “Now that I’m (hopefully) past all the nausea and extreme fatigue, I’m loving being pregnant!”

As mentioned earlier, this is Lotz and Schmid’s first baby. The now-married couple first met each other through a mutual friend. Their first date was a “quick coffee double date,” which they had with their mutual friend and her husband on February 21, 2021.

Lotz and Schmid eventually began dating, and their bond grew stronger as time passed. A little over a year after they started dating, Schmid decided to take his relationship with his then-girlfriend to the next level and proposed to her in May 2022.

On May 7, 2022, Schmid shared some moments from their engagement via Instagram, expressing his love for his then-fiancee. “The sun rises and sets with you. The moon and the stars have never shone so brightly. You are the love of my life,” he captioned.

Likewise, days before the then-engaged duo celebrated their second dating anniversary, they walked down the aisle and shared their wedding vows. Lotz and Schmid married in an intimate ceremony on February 11, 2023.

Speaking a little about their wedding, it was a destination wedding in Cartagena, Colombia, where only close friends and family members were in attendance. The Flash alum later informed her fans about their marriage on Valentine’s Day of 2023.
