He has played some iconic roles, and people are often curious about how many accolades Jackson has won to date for movies and shows he has worked on.
What did Samuel L. Jackson win an Oscar for?
Jackson has never won an Oscar for a movie. He was nominated for Pulp Fiction in 1995 for the category of Best Supporting Actor.
However, he lost the Oscars to Martin Landau, who won the award for Ed Wood. Since then, Jackson was never nominated for the Oscars despite the excellent movies he was working on.

However, in 2022, he was honored with the Academy Honorary Award. His long-time friend Denzel Washington presented him with an honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement at the Governors Awards on Friday in a non-televised event.
Upon winning the award, Jackson said, “So I’m really, really proud to receive this statue. Who knows, that little kid from Chattanooga, Tennessee, watching movies, wishing he could be here to get the votes of people who run an organization like this that says, ‘Hey, I deserve something like this,’ thank you, so much.”
Samuel L. Jackson’s bio and movies
Jackson was born on December 21, 1948, in Washington, D.C., to a working-class family and initially pursued a degree in marine biology. However, his love of performing drove him to change paths to pursue theatre at Morehouse College in Atlanta.
Jackson’s passion and talent immediately became apparent, and he began to establish himself as a stage actor, appearing in both on and off-Broadway shows.
He made his film debut in the comedy Together for Days in the 1980s, transitioning from stage to cinema. Despite early disappointments and hardships, he persevered and gradually achieved notoriety for his performances in films such as Spike Lee’s School Daze and Do the Right Thing.
These collaborations marked the start of successful cooperation between the two, with Jackson later appearing in numerous more of Lee’s films, including Jungle Fever and Malcolm X.
However, it was his performance as Jules Winnfield in Quentin Tarantino’s cult masterpiece Pulp Fiction that catapulted Jackson to international notoriety. His performance as the Bible-quoting hitman won him a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
The picture’s success opened doors for Jackson, and he went on to work with some of the industry’s most famous directors, including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and M. Night Shyamalan.
Jackson worked with filmmaker Shyamalan in the supernatural thriller Unbreakable, in which he portrayed Elijah Price, also known as Mr. Glass. He reprised the character in the 2019 sequel, Glass, completing a nearly two-decade-long trilogy.
Jackson’s depiction of Nick Fury, the enigmatic head of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was another watershed moment in his career. He initially appeared as Fury in a post-credits sequence in Iron Man, and he has since reprised the character in other Marvel films, including The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Aside from his blockbuster parts, Jackson has regularly played a wide range of characters, demonstrating his flexibility as an actor. He has proved his ability to command the screen and offer depth to every role he portrays — from his chilling performance as the diabolical Richmond Valentine in Kingsman: The Secret Service to his depiction of the famed abolitionist in TheHateful Eight.
Aside from his acting abilities, Jackson’s services to the film business have been recognized through several awards. He has garnered a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, and three NAACP Image Awards.
Jackson’s career displays his enormous brilliance, flexibility, and devotion to his profession. He has continuously provided remarkable performances that have amused and inspired audiences, from his early stage appearances to his famous parts in blockbusters.
He has made an everlasting effect on the entertainment business and will be remembered as one of the best performers of his time, thanks to his commanding presence, captivating charisma, and undeniable skill.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Star in Robert Eggers’ Next Film ‘Werwulf’
WERWULF is currently in pre-production, with more casting and plot details expected to be revealed soon.

After haunting audiences with Nosferatu, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is teaming up once again with director Robert Eggers. This time for a werewolf horror titled Werwulf. The film is already building buzz ahead of its Christmas Day 2026 release, and it may get even hotter with Nosferatu lead Lily-Rose Depp in talks to join the cast.
Eggers will direct from a script he co-wrote with Sjón, his collaborator on The Northman. With Focus Features backing the project, and Working Title producing, Werwulf looks to carry the eerie, mythic tone Eggers is known for — only now under the full moon.
Their last outing, Nosferatu, was a breakout hit, raking in $181 million worldwide and marking a massive return for stylized gothic horror. Taylor-Johnson played Friedrich Harding, a vampire skeptic, while Depp portrayed Ellen, the object of Count Orlok’s obsession.
With werewolves now in his sights, Eggers’ next nightmare seems poised to bite — and Taylor-Johnson is clearly ready to howl.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Roars Into Box Office Success

Jurassic World Rebirth, the latest installment in the dinosaur saga, has stomped its way to box office glory. Directed by Gareth Edwards and co-written by Jurassic Park veteran David Koepp, the film premiered on June 17 in London and hit U.S. theaters on July 2. It has already grossed over $334 million globally against a reported budget of $180 million.
This fresh reboot stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali in leading roles, supported by Jonathan Bailey, Ed Skrein, and Rupert Friend. The film shifts slightly from the earlier World trilogy tone, leaning into sci-fi thrills and a suspenseful, character-driven story.
Critics have been split. While some praise the visual effects and performances, others say it doesn’t quite recapture the awe of Spielberg’s original. Still, many fans agree that Rebirth is a major improvement over the previous film, Dominion, and a step in the right direction for the franchise.
With its strong performance, Universal is now reportedly developing spin-offs and planning to expand the Jurassic universe further. After ten films and over three decades of dino-dominance, it seems audiences still aren’t done with the thrill of prehistoric adventure.

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Rolls Out Star‑Studded Cast

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially underway, and the cast lineup is as iconic as fans hoped. Meryl Streep returns as the icy editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, joined once again by Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci — reprising their roles nearly two decades after the 2006 original became a cultural classic.
But the sequel isn’t just about the old guard. It’s adding new faces to the high-fashion chaos, including Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Bridgerton star Simone Ashley. Acclaimed actor and director Kenneth Branagh will also appear as Miranda’s husband — a character that’s expected to shake up the dynamics at Runway Magazine.
Plot details are still under wraps, but the film is scheduled to release on May 1, 2026. It’s expected to explore the evolving world of fashion media while diving deeper into Miranda’s personal life and Andy Sachs’ next chapter. Notably missing is Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s boyfriend Nate in the original. Sources say his character won’t return for the sequel.
With a mix of nostalgia and fresh energy, The Devil Wears Prada 2 promises to deliver sharp dialogue, high fashion, and the kind of dramatic flair only Miranda Priestly can serve.
