Out of all people in the world, celebrities are the ones who are scrutinized the most. Even minute things about them are questioned and pondered upon.
As a result, many of them face cyberbullying. And the most common topic they are bullied on is their body.
Body shaming is rampant on social media, and many celebrities have taken a step back to avoid negativity. One such person is Lana Del Rey.
Del Ray deactivated her official Instagram in September 2021. However, she has a private Instagram account called @honeymoon.
In this @honeymoon Instagram account, the ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer often posts pictures that get leaked by her followers.
The same happened on August 8, 2022. And now, she is facing backlash for photoshop failures.
Lana Del Rey’s photoshop failure
On August 8, 2022, Del Rey took to Instagram Stories to post a couple of mirror selfies of herself trying on Jeans. She wore a cute olive crop top and had her hair half up with one hand holding the waist of her jeans.
She captioned one photo, “Still feel like I’m in eighth grade while I’m trying on jeans.”
At first glance, the pictures look normal. But looking closely, it is evident that she edited or photoshopped the image.
The background of her pictures looks like doors with patterns on them. The designs are straight, except in the places where she has edited them.

In one photo, the frames near her shoulders are crooked, whereas, in the other one, the edges beside her hips and waist are curved.
The pictures were shared by an Instagram account named @problematicfame, stating that the singer was caught editing photos and uploading them on the @honeymoon Instagram account.
@problematicfame went on to say that Del Rey editing her pictures was sad. She added that, given the context of the pictures, the singer needed to learn how to love herself instead of seeking validation from others.
@problematicfame ended her statement by saying, “she’s gorgeous and doesn’t need any edits.” Del Rey has not responded to the photoshop allegations yet.
What happened to Lana Del Rey’s Instagram?
In September 2021, the ‘Born to Die’ singer deleted ̛Instagram. Before she did so, she uploaded a video clarifying the reasons for her actions.
In the black-and-white clip, she said that she was deactivating her social media because she had “many other interests and other jobs” going on. For these, she needed privacy and transparency.
She also revealed that she was working on her eighth studio album, Blue Banisters, poetry books, and spoken word albums. She said, “I’m still present and love what I do.”
She reminded her worried fans that she would always be there for the music, but she was “also just going on some different endeavors.” She thanked them for the support and hoped they liked her album.
She explained Blue Banisters, “It’s a compilation of older songs and a few newer songs, some written by family and friends and mostly old collaborators, and there will probably always be more to come.”
She ended her video by saying she was “going to just keep my circle a little bit closer and continue to develop some other skills and interests.”
At the time of writing, Del Rey has not activated her original Instagram account and is just present in her private Instagram account — @honeymoon.
