‘Designated Survivor’ Star Adan Canto Is Survived by His Wife and Children

Mexican actor Adan Canto is no more. He died on January 8, 2024, succumbing to his silent battle with appendix cancer.
Adan was best known for his role as Sunspot in the 2014 movie X-Men: Days of Future Past, Paul Torres in the Fox drama series The Following, and A.J. Menendez in the ABC primetime series Blood & Oil.
He played Rodrigo Lara Bonilla in the Netflix drama series Narcos, Aaron Shore in the ABC/Netflix political thriller Designated Survivor, and starred in Fox’s The Cleaning Lady before his death.
Fans and followers of the actor were heartbroken after hearing the news of his death. He left behind his wife and best friend, Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two children, Roman Alder Canto, 3½ years of age, and Eve Josephine Canto, 1½ years old.

On January 10, 2024, two days after Adan’s death, Stephanie uploaded a picture of the duo and quoted a Bible verse. She quoted Mathew 6:19-21 which read, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth…”
She continued, “…where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
At the end, she wrote a personal note to her husband, “Forever my treasure Adan, see you soon,” with a broken heart emoji. Netizens flooded Stephanie’s comment section, wishing her well and asking her to stay strong for her children.
A netizen wrote, “We are all thinking of you and the kids. Adan talked about you all the time. Family was his everything. Sending you and your family love,” and another commented, “Heartbroken for you. The World lost one of its best. Here for you. Thinking of you and the family.”

Most of the comments were about how much Adan treasured his wife and children. Many pointed out that he always talked about his spouse and family.
A grieving Instagram user wrote, “How beautiful, Stephanie, just like your love together. I’m so sorry for your loss. Adan was an amazingly special and gifted man – talented, kind, soulful, and so in love with his family.”
“You two found utopia together in a world where most people spend a lifetime looking for it. I know his spirit will carry forth in you and your children, and I know you will carry forward your dreams together. Sending you so much love, Stephanie,” the user concluded.
All in all, people stood beside Stephanie and her children and supported her while she grieved the death of her spouse, business partner, and best friend.

As said before, Adan and his spouse have two children. Adan revealed that they were expecting their first child in a March 2020 snapshot showing him caressing Stephanie’s baby belly.

Adan was born in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, on December 5, 1981. He crossed the border every day as a youngster to attend an American Catholic school in Del Rio, Texas.
