The effortless look, literally looked as if Holmes forgot she had to attend the Jingle Ball and threw on the first items she saw in her closet. We will file this one under fashion trends we don’t want to make a comeback.

2. Jada Pinkett Smith – Oscars 2022

While her husband stole the show with the infamous Chris Rock slap, Jada surely competed for headline attention with her emerald green gown, which appeared to look like a tracksuit jacket on top and a ball gown at the bottom.

3. Machine Gun Kelly – American Music Awards 2022

One thing you can always expect Machine Gun Kelly to bring to the red carpet is a style spectacle, and last year’s American Music Awards were no different.

The rapper-turned-rocker attended the award show in a purple suit with huge, three-dimensional spikes jutting out in every direction. Not only was the outfit ridiculous, but it should have come with its own caution sign.

4. Carrie Underwood – People’s Choice Awards 2022

Carrie may have one Country Artist of the Year at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards, but her outfit was the biggest loser of the night. The black velvet suit was decked out in gold and silver flowers that were lined with crystals.

It didn’t spot there for the Oklahoma native who opted to accessorize with dangling metallic earrings and shiny pointed-toe pumps. Next time Carrie, stick to what you know, princess gowns.

5. Shawn Mendes – Met Gala 2022

Fashion’s biggest event of the year is never without its misses. Last year Gilded Glamour theme had no exceptions, with Shawn Mendes looking like a mix between a marching band leader and a Hamilton cast member.

His middle school play looks left us wishing this fashion nightmare would end.

6. Leon Hanne – Cannes Film Festival 2022

Leonie Hanne decided to channel her inner Malibu Barbie for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Her bubble-gum pink gown was too much and too light at the same featuring awkward length hems and ill-fitting bodice.

With that red carpet performance, She might struggle with getting an invitation to this year’s event.

7. Julia Fox – New York Fashion Week 2023

Julia Fox rocked up to the Wiederhoeft NYFW show in a glittery hot pink midi dress featuring a furry cartoon pool design across the front. The Uncut Gems star paired the strapless gown with a pair of extremely high white platform shoes complementing the poodle’s white faux fur and fuzzy fabric.

While the outspoken actress, model, and self-proclaimed muse is no stranger to a fashion risk, I think we can all agree that this was clearly a miss. Sadly, it’s going to take a lot for us to forget the poodle’s blue eyes staring into our souls. 

8. Blac Chyna – The Grammys 2023

Reality star turned only fans model Blac Chyna made a surprise appearance at 65th annual Grammy Awards, marking her first major red carpet appearance since the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

While she may not have been nominated, the ‘Can’t See Me’ rapper made sure to make her presence known by wearing a flamboyant black, one-piece bodysuit covered in feathers and rhinestones. The daring look made its rounds online, with many comparing Chyna to Black Swan, the ballet thriller starring Natalie Portman.

9. Heidi Klum – Golden Globes 2023

Never one to shy away from a runaway, Heidi Klum put on a leggy display in a tiny sequined mini dress at the Golden Globe Awards. The supermodel and TV personality’s look featured a dramatic lavender feather overlay, a mix of sparkles, cut-outs, and even included a built-in choker.

Unfortunately, the look did not receive the reception Klum was hoping for. Its mismatched materials and overbearing accessories left fashion experts begging for less. Just remember less is always more. 

10. Kylie Jenner – Paris Couture Week 2023

Never too far away from a controversy, Kylie Jenner divided the internet when she quite literally roared into Paris Couture Week. The youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan wore a Schiaparelli black gown with an oversized lion head on the shoulder.

The realistic look caused an uproar with several commenters mistaking the faux head for real taxidermy. Although no animals were harmed in the making of this look, our eyes surely were.

11. Sam Smith – Brit Awards 2023

Sam Smith made some unforgivable fashion faux pas across the pond at this year’s Brit Awards. The unholy songwriter opted for a quirky look turning up to the red carpet in a black latex-inflated jumpsuit.

What’s worse is that the look came with exaggerated sleeves, shoulder pads, and even large legs. Smith completed the look in black high-platform boots, which appeared to be the only redeemable part of the outfit.

12. Natasha Lyonne – Critics’ Choice Awards 2023

Natasha Lyonne brought Halloween energy to the Critics’ Choice awards. The Russian Doll star’s black long-sleeved dress featured an eye-catching shredded fringe hemline from the top of the thigh to the end of Lyonne’s ankles.

The actress leaned into the gothic drama but adding several chunky statement pieces, including several oversized rings and an orange, black and silver bracelet, and necklace. It’s safe to say this look had us spooked.

13. Michelle Yeoh – SAG Awards 2023

Michelle Yeoh may be having a career renaissance as a best actress nominee for her role in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ but it seems her look for the SAG Awards red carpet had us thinking she super glued pieces of straw to the front of it. Not even her flawless makeup and elegant updo could save this trainwreck.

14. Angela Bassett – NAACP Image Awards 2023

Angela Bassett may have ‘did the thing,’ scooping up three awards at the NAACP Image Awards for outstanding actress in a drama series, best supporting actress, and entertainer of the year however her outfit was less than stellar.

The acclaimed actor wore a satin-like jumpsuit with ruffled balloon sleeves that simply weighed the outfit down and reminded viewers of two arm floats helping her survive the sea of entertainment.

15. Kathryn Newton – Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 2023

Kathryn Newton made headlines a few years back when it was announced that she would be taking on the role of Cassie Lang from Emma Fuhrmann in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Newton’s debut to the franchise was meant with as much criticism as her basic disco ball gown that screams off the rack.
