American singer Nessa Barrett has recently shed light on the deeply personal reasons that hinder her ability to conceive and have children.

On June 30, 2023, Barrett graced an interview with the esteemed Zach Sang Show, delving into a wide range of captivating topics, including Lie, Hell Is A Teenage Girl, Engagement, and American Jesus. 

During a poignant moment in the interview, the compassionate host posed a heartfelt question to Barrett, asking, “Does the thought of being a mom excite you?” Visibly moved by the inquiry, the singer became overcome with emotion. 

After a brief pause, she replied, her voice filled with sincerity, “Yes, I’ve only started contemplating it recently. Just as the tour was a life-changing experience for me, I believe that becoming a mother would be even more transformative. It would imbue my life with an enhanced sense of purpose, offering me an unparalleled source of fulfillment.”

The singer continued to bravely share her ongoing physical and mental struggles, revealing that she has been facing significant obstacles. She realized she might encounter difficulties in having children, which deeply affected her. 

This newfound awareness prompted her to contemplate motherhood, leading to moments of emotional distress where she shed tears. 

Barrett also expressed a sense of personal responsibility, feeling she had contributed to her predicament. Her strong desire to become a mother serves as a powerful motivation for her journey of recovery, as she strives to overcome her challenges and hold onto the hope of fulfilling her dream.

Upon hearing the singer’s heartfelt response, the empathetic host inquired further, asking why she wouldn’t have children. In response, the singer revealed that she has been grappling with a severe eating disorder, acknowledging its detrimental impact on her body. 

Likewise, she shared that the disorder has persisted for over a year, and its severity has reached a point where she is keenly aware of the toll it has taken on her physical well-being.

Following Barrett’s revelation about her inability to have children, The Tea Talk re-shared the interview video, igniting a flurry of responses from her fans and followers. 

Among the comments, one person pointed out, “She’s only 20 years old… there’s still plenty of time for her to have kids in the future.” Likewise, another person suggested alternative paths, stating, “She could explore options like surrogacy or adoption to fulfill her desire to become a mother.” 

However, this is not the first time Barrett has discussed her disorder. In a previous podcast titled Between Good & Evil, hosted by Charlotte D’Alessio, she courageously opened up about her experience with Borderline Personality Disorder.

Brief on Nessa Barrett’s dating life 

As of now, Barrett appears to be single, wholeheartedly dedicating herself to her career. However, in the past, she was in a relationship with Josh Richards.

Their romantic journey had its share of highs and lows throughout 2021. However, after a year of being together, they jointly decided to part ways on May 2, 2022.
