The August 1-4 festival in Chicago will also feature headline performances by SZA, Tyler The Creator, Metro Boomin, Hozier, Melanie Martinez, and Skrillex, among the 170 musicians performing on eight stages over four days.
Among the other acts on the lineup announced are Deftones, Tate McRae, Laufey with the Chicago Philharmonic, Reneé Rapp, Lizzy McAlpine, Zedd, Fisher, Zeds Dead, Dominic Fike, Labrinth, Pierce the Veil, Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red, Teddy Swims, Faye Webster, Benson Boone, Jungle, Two Door Cinema Club, Killer Mike, Vince Staples, Kesha, Galantis, Kevin Abstract, Ethel Cain, Chappell Roan, Megan Mornoey, and Teezo Touchdown, among others.
This year’s event will also feature performances by IVE and JYP Entertainment’s new global girl group VCHA, however, neither of them are headliners. This year’s Lollapalooza Chicago will be Skrillex’s first gig in a decade, while Stray Kids will make their Lollapalooza Chicago debut.
However, this is not the first Lollapalooza Stray Kids is headlining.
Back in 2023, the group headlined Lollapalooza Paris, where they stunned over 60K attendees. They created a long 77-minute setlist for Lollapalooza Paris that showcased the absolute uniqueness of their discography while also capturing the explosive excitement.

Opening with a ceremonial chant of “Stray Kids everywhere all around the world” — a longtime rallying cry for the band and their supporters — they set the tone for the festival.
Within the next 77 minutes, they sang various hit songs like ‘Venom,’ ‘Gods Menu,’ ‘Thunderous,’ and ‘Maniac.’ At the time, they had just released their album, 5-Star.
So, Lollapalooza Paris became their first show where they sang songs from the album, like ‘S-Class,’ ‘Item,’ and ‘Topline,’ live. Their performance at Lollapalooza Paris was critically acclaimed with many fans and followers all over the world demanding Stray Kids to headline more festivals.
As a result, it is no surprise that the K-pop band is going to headline the 2024 Lollapalooza Chicago — making them the only artists to headline Lollapalooza consecutively.
Stray Kids, often abbreviated as SKZ, is a South Korean boy band created by JYP Entertainment via the 2017 reality program of the same name. The group consists of eight members — Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.
Woojin departed the group, which was once made up of nine members, for unspecified personal reasons in October 2019. Since 2019/2020, Stray Kids have been making strides in the music industry.
Soon, they gained international fame and now, they have millions of fans and followers all over the world. Like fellow K-pop groups, BTS and Blackpink, Stray Kids have now become a household name.
Since gaining international fame, Stray Kids has broken various records worldwide. Alongside Lollapalooza Chicago in August 2024, the group will be headlining two other festivals — BST Hyde Park in London and I-Days in Milan in July 2024.
