Maya Hawke Clears Her Instagram Feed and Teases New Music

Maya Hawke is releasing new music and even a new album.

While Hawke is best known as an actress, especially for series and movies like Stranger Things, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Do Revenge, she is also a singer.

Recently, she teased new music on her Instagram by clearing her feed and uploading two photos on February 7, 2024, with the same caption that read “link in bio.” The first photo was of a red heart with wings.

She also used this photo as her profile picture for her Instagram handle. Likewise, the second picture was a black-and-white photo of herself in an electric chair.

In her Instagram bio, she wrote, “Missing Out on Feb 14,” and the link in her bio would take her fans and followers to a page where they could pre-save her new music on different platforms — from Apple Music and Spotify to Amazon Music, Deezer, and Tidal.

Hawke clearing out her Instagram and hinting about releasing new music has sent her fans and followers into a frantic mode. As a result, they took to the comment section to talk about express their confusion.

Many were shocked about her clearing out her Instagram. One of them wrote, “GURL 2 POSTS U DELET3D EVERYTHING,” and another quipped, “WHY DID YOU DELETE ALL OF YOUR POSTS?”

Many were confused about what Hawke was going to do. One netizen wrote, “MAYA WHAT IS THIS? EXPLAIN NOW,” and another commented, “What does this mean I’m running around my room.”

Regardless, her fans and followers are excited for Hawke’s new music. “MAYA?!? whatever what this means- I’m seated,” one fan noted.

Another fan gushed, “THIS MEAN A NEW SINGLE OR ALBUM?? PLS, I WILL CRY.”

At the time of writing, Hawke has not clarified if ‘Missing Out’ is her new album with a lot of songs or just a single, which she plans on releasing on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. 

Before this, Hawke has released a fair share of singles and albums as a singer. She has released two albums, Blush in 2020 and Moss in 2022.

Blush is her debut studio album. Originally scheduled for June 19, 2020, the album’s release date was pushed back to August 21, 2020.

Blush was published independently through Mom + Pop Music. The album is a continuation of her cooperation with musician Jesse Harris, who produced and wrote her solo debut, a double single released in August 2019.

Hawke’s second studio album, Moss, was released on September 23, 2022, and was inspired by Taylor Swift’s Folklore. The album was announced on June 29, 2022, with the release of its first track, ‘Thérèse.’ This song was inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Balthus work, Thérèse Dreaming.

Talking about her career as a musician, Hawke has been inspired by a lot of artists. She has listed several musicians as inspirations.

While Swift and the Arctic Monkeys are among her faves, she also admires excellent songwriters who aren’t as well-known, such as Lemonheads leader Evan Dando’s solo work, Wilco, and Peach Fuzz.

Besides her two studio albums and their songs, she has released four non-album songs — ‘To Love a Boy,’ ‘Stay Open,’ ‘Blue Hippo,’ and ‘Coming Around Again.’ At the time of writing, she has around 478,529 monthly listeners on Spotify.
