Aly Michalka is currently pregnant, and her sister, AJ Michalka, could not be more happy to be an auntie!
On January 31, 2024, AJ took to Instagram to talk about Aly’s pregnancy and how she found out her sister was expecting. She posted a photo of the duo singing at the Greek Theatre and wrote that it was the day she found out about Aly’s pregnancy.
On the morning of September 8, 2023, when the duo were going to perform at their sold-out show at The Greek Theatre, Aly found out that she was pregnant. Aly was overwhelmed so she could not tell her sister the news before their concert.
AJ wrote, “She knew I would be overwhelmed with excitement and adrenaline to get that news before we got on stage so she waited to tell me.” Two nights later, Aly and her husband, Stephen Ringer, took AJ to their favorite restaurant to tell her about their pregnancy.
AJ gushed about how the photo that she uploaded meant even more than it did before since at the time, Aly found out that she was pregnant with her first child. AJ then appreciated her sister and brother-in-law, claiming that they would be the best parents.
She wrote, “I love you Aly and Stephen. I already know you’re going to be the most loving, dedicated and encouraging parents to this little one. I can’t wait to be an auntie.”
As soon as AJ uploaded the post, Aly commented on it. She wrote, “We love you so much nerd.”
Before AJ announced the pregnancy, Aly had already done it on her Instagram. She uploaded a carousel of photos, including her pregnancy test, baby bump, sonogram, and snapshots of her during the soundcheck of her concert with her sister.
In a lengthy caption, she talked about how she found out she was pregnant in September 2023. “Our little one has been on stage with me across three states already and has even done some international traveling!” she wrote.

She revealed that the gender of the baby is not known yet but she had been busy with “getting the nursery ready, meeting with my birth team, eating more protein than usual, going to Pilates, getting good sleep, and drinking lots of water.”
She added, “Somehow we’ve been able to still spend days in the studio writing music which hopefully finds its way into baby’s soul. I’m so grateful for all the amazing women I’ve leaned on these past 6 months (you know who you are) it makes me hopeful about the goodness in the world.”
This is Aly and her husband’s first pregnancy. The couple began dating in 2013, after meeting on the set of Sequoia.
In July of the following year, they became engaged in Big Sur, California. On June 6, 2015, the pair married in an intimate and private ceremony in Portofino, Italy.
Aly donned a lavender gown, and her sister served as her maid of honor. As of 2024, the couple have been together for over a decade and married for almost nine years.
