Sabrina Carpenter and Coi Leray are collaborating, with the latter confirming that she is featured on Carpenter’s remix of her hit song ‘Nonsense.’

On Thursday, March 16, 2023, Leray took to her Instagram stories to reveal she had agreed to collab with Carpenter for the ‘Nonsense’ remix. And she told the news by sharing a small teaser clip from the editing/mixing process.

Additionally, the teaser clip had sound from either Carpenter or Leray, sounding “Yeah… Yeah… Sabrina… Coi Leray… It’s about you and me.” Leray had tagged Carpenter in the story and used multiple fire and heart eyes emojis.

The revelation of Carpenter and Leray’s collab comes around a week after Carpenter’s interview with Billboard on March 10, 2023. During the interview, she confirmed she was working on a remix of ‘Nonsense’ with another artist but didn’t reveal the artist’s name.

Sabrina Carpenter almost scrapped ‘Nonsense’

During the same interview with Billboard, Carpenter revealed that she had hit a mental wall during one of her sessions for her 2022 album Emails I Can’t Send. She had to get outside of her head.

Around two hours later, she and co-writer Steph Jones created ‘Nonsense.’ However, she didn’t believe it was important as she wasn’t sure if the sumptuous rhythmic-pop track fit with the tone of her album. Besides, she almost left the song out of the album.

She stated, “That laid-back approach is what I think actually made it special.” But thankfully, she released ‘Nonsense,’ which initially didn’t receive the response it went on to get later on. The song eventually latched on, and Carpenter was prompted to release multiple versions.

Speaking about the sped-up version of ‘Nonsense’ she released, she said, “There’s something addictive about hearing a song sped up. It gives it new life and more energy.”

Likewise, Carpenter later released a holiday version of the song on streaming platforms which also became a hit. On January 4, 2023, she delivered a highly choreographed performance during Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performed a TikTok dance routine.

Besides Emails I Can’t Send, Carpenter has already released four studio albums. They are Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and Singular: Act II (2019).

Who is Coi Leray?

She eventually released her debut single ‘Huddy’ and debut mixtape ‘Everythingcoz,’ after which she signed a record deal with 1801 Records and Republic Records. Since then, her musical career has been on the rise, with her releasing more songs and doing collabs.

Myha’la Herrold Is As Conscious About Her Dental Health As Parenting Her Cats

“…your individuality, the thing that makes you different, is going to be the thing that people love about you the most.”

Myha'la Herrold Is As Conscious About Her Dental Health As Parenting Her Cats

Ever-smiling Myha’la Herrold, who finds joy in the littlest of things, such as parenting her two cats, is the kind of inspiration the world needs right now.

The actress has starred as Harper Stern in the British television drama Industry – and her performance has touched the hearts of many. Through her role, she has represented the unheard voices and overlooked faces of our regular workspaces.

She has also been seen in the recent Netflix drama Leave The World Behind alongside Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali.

If her onscreen performances were not inspiring enough, she has also been part of some meaningful campaigns that aim to spread positivity amongst the people. Mainly targeting Gen Z, Myha’la has now collaborated with Colgate for its My Smile is My Superpower campaign.

The campaign “aims to show everyone once and for all that, all smiles are beautiful smiles, no matter their size, shape, or shade.”

To pick Myha’la’s brain on what she thinks about the Colgate campaign, dental health, cats, and keeping positivity in life, we had a brief conversation.

Can you elaborate on how you manage the balance between your personal and professional commitments amidst your demanding work schedules, particularly with the recent release of “Leave the World Behind” in 2023 and the upcoming season of HBO’s “Industry” this year?

Myha’la: Well, yes! I have found it essential to prioritize certain aspects of my life to manage the balance between my personal and professional commitments. Whether it’s blocking out specific time for family and friends, scheduling regular breaks for relaxation, or delegating tasks where possible, I strive to maintain a sense of equilibrium.

Additionally, staying organized and focused during work hours allows me to make the most of my time and avoid unnecessary stress.

However, the biggest thing I do for myself is my self-care routine. My skin care, my dental hygiene, and my sleep routine, all of those things, are super important for me.

Beyond your involvement in film and television, you have been engaged in various meaningful endeavors, including the Colgate campaign, “The Beauty of Gaps.” Could you share your perspective on this initiative and its significance?

Myha’la: Yeah! I was so excited to be included in this campaign because I am super passionate about my dental health. Particularly, in this campaign, they are focusing on celebrating and maintaining the health of your unique smile. And I have two abnormal teeth – they are called peg lateral incisors.

So many times throughout my life, dentists and random people have approached me, given me their cards, and said, “When you are ready to fix your teeth, use my card.”

And I was like, “What the heck! I did not ask for this. I love my smile.”

Partially because I felt violated by those people and also because I really do love my smile, I have really focused on the health of my teeth. I am really, I am a prolific flosser, and I brush my teeth twice a day, if not more. I also have really sensitive teeth; I am really prone to getting cavities regardless of how often I brush. I guess I just have naturally weakened enamel.

So, I use Colgate Total Plaque Pro Release, which is really good for sensitive teeth and helps to keep that plaque away, which is how I get so many cavities. I use that so that I do not have to have someone else’s teeth or some other kind of fake teeth in my mouth.

Therefore, I was really excited about this campaign because this one spoke to me personally which you don’t really get from a campaign for toothpaste. I don’t ever feel like they are speaking to me [referring to other campaigns], so that is a really special thing about this campaign.

It is encouraging people to maintain the health of their own smile, their unique smile, and I wanted to do that. So, I was really excited to being included in this campaign.

Reflecting on your career, could you recall a particular moment when you realized the impact your work had in bringing joy to people’s lives?

Myha’la: I think one of the most significant moments that moved me was when the first season of Industry premiered. I had a huge number of Black people, especially Black women, reach out to me, saying, “I work in finance, I am young, a person of color, and I haven’t ever felt represented on screen particularly in movies or media about the finance world.”

So, they just were like, “Thank you for doing this. I am so happy that this exists, and I feel really seen.”

And I was even surprised by the number of people of color or other people in the finance industry – because what did I know about that. All I saw was headlines, which was mostly CEOs and COOs, and all of them are old white guys. So, I was like, “There is none of us there.”

But when the show aired, there were so many people who reached out and said thank you for doing this. And that is the greatest gift I think I have received: someone saying, “I saw myself in your work or I felt seen by your work, and it brought me joy.”

That is what really does it for me.

What typically brings a smile to your face?

Myha’la: Cats (laughs)!

I have two cats at home and I really love cat videos. My mom and I are like cat people and we would send cat videos to each other, and that really makes me smile.

Cats and dogs!?

Myha’la: Oh yeah, animals. All animals. I love animals. They are the purest, most special things on this earth.

Expanding on the “The Beauty of Gaps” campaign, which aims to raise awareness among Gen-Z about the uniqueness of their smiles, could you share a personal lesson you’ve embraced that you wish to pass on to your younger self?

Myha’la: I would want my younger self to know that your individuality, the thing that makes you different, is going to be the thing that people love about you the most. Because I think when you are young, or at any age, there is a real need to fit in and be accepted – and of course, who would not want to be accepted and to fit in? But the thing that I have discovered is the thing that makes me different or special has ended up being the most relatable.

Human beings are genetically different. Twins are special case but there is still something that makes them different. So, really, your uniqueness is the thing that makes you a part of a whole, which is kind of a weird thing to think about.

But I would want my younger self to know that the thing that makes you different, your little teeth in the front, that is the thing that is gonna make people love you.

Finally, do you have any messages you’d like to convey to your fans and viewers regarding the importance of maintaining a positive outlook and embracing the power of smiling in life?

Myha’la: I would say, smiles are infectious, and the unique ones are the most exciting. So I would say, however you can, whenever you can, find a way to smile or share a smile, and don’t be afraid to share your own. Because someone else might feel inspired by it.

A smile is very powerful, so use yours.

When Kimmel brought up that he’s typically careful with his music, Dr. Dre replied, “Yeah, I’m hands-on. There are things that I have to mix that I’ve done, but I get the chance to hear the album in its entirety.”

Snoop Dogg And Dr. Dre Say Their New Album Is ‘Coming Soon’

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have given fans an update on their upcoming collaborative album, Missionary. Snoop shared a photo on Instagram of Dr. Dre and himself in the studio, captioning the post, “Coming soon.” Fans immediately flocked to the rapper’s comments section to express their excitement for the new project.

Snoop confirmed that Missionary was in the works last year during an appearance on Steven A. Smith’s podcast, Know Mercy.

“I’m to tell you this, you’re the first one to hear this: me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months,” he revealed.

He went on to claim, “It’ll be done in November.” Snoop continued, explaining, “Dr. Dre produces it, it’s our 30th anniversary to Doggystyle. The name of the album is Missionary.

History of Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg

Dr. Dre was born on February 18, 1965, in Compton, California, and is a pivotal figure in the music industry, particularly in the genres of hip-hop and rap.

Growing up in Compton, a city known for its violent gang culture, he found solace and expression in music. He started his career as a DJ in the local club scene, where he adopted the moniker Dr. Dre, a nod to Julius Erving, his favorite basketball player, and his own first name, Andre.

His professional music career began with the electro group World Class Wreckin’ Cru in the mid-1980s. The group was known for its laid-back, dance-friendly tracks, a stark contrast to the harder-edged sound he would later help pioneer.

His career trajectory took a significant turn when he co-founded N.W.A (Niggaz Wit Attitudes) with Eazy-E, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren. Their album Straight Outta Compton (1988) became a landmark in the genre, despite—or perhaps because of—its controversy and explicit content.

Leaving N.W. due to financial disputes, he co-founded Death Row Records with Suge Knight. His debut solo album, The Chronic (1992), became a defining work of the 1990s, introducing the world to the G-Funk sound—a smooth, synthesizer-based take on hip hop, infused with slow, heavy beats and melodic synths. The album also helped launch the careers of several artists, including Snoop Dogg.

Dr Dre founded Eminem in 1996

In 1996, seeking a new direction, he established Aftermath Entertainment. While initial releases saw mixed success, the label’s fortune changed with the signing of Eminem, a rapper from Detroit.

His work has earned him multiple Grammy Awards, and his influence extends beyond music into the realms of culture, technology, and business.

Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20, 1971, in Long Beach, California, is a multifaceted entertainer known for his contributions to music, particularly in the genres of rap and hip-hop, as well as his ventures in acting, business, and media.

His early life in Long Beach was fraught with challenges, including brushes with the law and a brief period of gang involvement. Music served as a constructive outlet, and he began recording homemade tapes with his cousin Nate Dogg and friend Warren G. His talent caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who invited him to audition. This pivotal moment led to Snoop’s breakthrough in the music industry.

His introduction to the mainstream came through his collaboration with Dr. Dre on the latter’s debut solo album, The Chronic, released in 1992. Snoop’s smooth flow and distinct voice on tracks like Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang captivated listeners, setting the stage for his own debut album.

In 1993, he released his debut album, “Doggystyle,” produced by Dr. Dre.

Over the years, he has released numerous albums, exploring different styles and collaborations, including Tha Doggfather (1996), R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece (2004), and Doggumentary (2011). His adaptability and willingness to explore new genres have kept him relevant in the music industry.

His charisma and popularity have led him to pursue various ventures outside of music. He has appeared in numerous films and television shows, including Starsky & Hutch, Training Day, and his own reality show, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood.
