American professional wrestler Hulk Hogan once again stated that he auditioned for the iconic heavy metal band Metallica but did not receive a response.

On June 11, 2023, a video was posted by FULL SEND Podcast Clips featuring Hogan’s revelation that he was on the verge of being cast for Metallica.

In the video, Hogan initially shared a story about his musical endeavors after returning to Connecticut in 1984 following his departure from wrestling.

He mentioned reaching out to Cindy Lauper and Dave Wolff, and together they decided to re-record some songs, including Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo. With Rick Derringer’s help, they successfully re-cut several tracks, which eventually went platinum.

Inspired by this success, he and his team decided to create another wrestling album called Piledriver, which also achieved platinum status. During this time, Simon Cowell became involved in the project and stayed with Hogan, eventually starting his work with the WWE.

Later in the video, the wrestler started recalling an event where he attended an award show in the UK. During the show, he found himself on stage with Jerry Hall, who happened to be living with Mick Jagger at the time.

Coincidentally, it was around the same period when the Rolling Stones’ bass player had quit, leading Hogan to consider the possibility of joining the legendary band. Seizing the opportunity, Hogan engaged in a conversation with Jerry Hall and offered to provide merchandise for her kids.

He also mentioned his experience playing bass and expressed his interest in sending a tape to Mick Jagger, hoping to join the Rolling Stones. However, despite his enthusiasm, Hogan never received any response or feedback after sending the tape.

Fast forward, the wrestler reflected on a time when Metallica needed a bass player. Excited by the opportunity, he imagined himself joining the renowned band, considering himself a perfect fit.

Hogan even created an audition tape showcasing his musical abilities and eagerly sent it to Metallica. However, to his disappointment, he never received any communication or feedback from them.

Reflecting on the experience, the wrestler expressed his belief that his fame as Hogan might have overshadowed his musical talent and hindered his chances.

When the host of the show asked if he possessed the skill to be part of such a top band, the wrestler confidently stated that he was familiar with the songs played by The Rolling Stones and could handle most of Metallica’s repertoire. However, he acknowledged the exceptional talent of the new bass player they had, praising their skills.

Hulk Hogan’s claim of almost joining Metallica sparks controversy

Following Hogan’s claim of auditioning for both The Rolling Stones and Metallica, numerous individuals came forward to dispute the truthfulness of his statements, asserting that his claims were not accurate.

During an appearance on the Howard Stern Show, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich openly expressed his lack of recollection regarding Hogan’s claim of being asked to join the band.

Ulrich stated, “That one when that showed up two or three months ago, I was scratching my head over that one. I don’t know Hulk Hogan, I don’t know enough about him… I’m not a huge wrestling [fan]… I certainly have no recollection of doing anything with quote Hulk Hogan endquote.”

In a similar vein, when presented with Hogan’s claim of auditioning for Metallica, James Hetfield, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the band, responded with surprise. He remarked, “Huh? Definitely not. But anyway, it’s a good fit, yeah? [Laughs] He makes us look very small.”

Rob Rausch Confirms New Romance After Historic 'The Traitors' Win: 'I've Been Dating for Two Months'

Rob Rausch has a lot to celebrate this February. Just one day after pulling off the ultimate deception to win Season 4 of Peacock’s The Traitors, the 27-year-old reality star has confirmed that his heart is officially taken. During the highly anticipated The Traitors reunion, which aired Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, the professional snake wrangler revealed that he has been in a committed relationship for two months.

The news comes as a blow to “shippers” who were hoping for a real-life romance between Rob and his Love Island alum and The Traitors co-star, Maura Higgins. Throughout the season, the pair’s “flirty faithfulness” was a central storyline, culminating in a shocking finale where Rob betrayed Maura’s blind trust to claim the entire $220,800 prize pot for himself. When host Andy Cohen asked during the reunion if there was any chance for a romantic spark between the two now that the game is over, Rob was quick to shut it down, confirming his status with a new, private partner.

While Rob is keeping his girlfriend’s identity under wraps for now, eagle-eyed fans have already begun the investigation. DeuxMoi recently shared a grainy photo of the reality star out and about in Kansas City with a mystery woman, sparking rumors that his new flame may be a non-celebrity from the Midwest.

In a new profile for The Cut published alongside his win, Rob gave a rare glimpse into how he’s spending his time away from the cameras. The feature noted that the Alabama native is “currently working on a woodworking project for his girlfriend,” though he declined to share her name or how they met. This “private but not secret” approach is a departure from his highly publicized flings on Love Island USA Seasons 5 and 6, where his “villain era” and breakup with Leah Kateb became viral sensations.

Maura Higgins, who was left “gobsmacked” and jokingly called Rob a “snake” after his Traitor reveal, seems to be taking the relationship news in stride. During the reunion, she teased Rob about his “good lying skills,” telling him, “You’re never going to have a girlfriend after this.” Rob countered with a laugh, noting that his current partner actually finds his strategic mind “impressive” rather than terrifying.

As for that $220,800 prize? Rob says he plans to be responsible with his winnings—but not before making things right with Maura. He confirmed during the reunion that he is officially buying her a Hermès Birkin bag as a “betrayal apology.” With a record-breaking reality TV win under his belt and a new mystery woman by his side, Rob Rausch is proving that 2026 is his most successful year yet.

Martin Short’s Daughter Katherine Short Dead at 42: New Details Emerge on Her Final Hours

On Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, the entertainment community was struck by the devastating news of the passing of Katherine Elizabeth Short, the eldest daughter of comedy legend Martin Short. Katherine was discovered in her Hollywood Hills home following a welfare check initiated by a concerned friend who reported that the 42-year-old had not been heard from in over 24 hours. Upon arriving at the residence shortly after 6:00 p.m., Los Angeles law enforcement officers were forced to make entry into the home, where they found Katherine behind a locked bedroom door.

Law enforcement sources have since confirmed that Katherine died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Homicide detectives who responded to the scene recovered a firearm along with a note left by the clinical social worker. After a thorough investigation of the scene and the 911 audio obtained from the initial call, authorities have officially ruled out foul play. The loss marks a heartbreaking chapter for the Short family, who have navigated significant private trials despite Martin’s long-standing status as one of Hollywood’s most beloved and energetic performers.

In a statement released to the media, a representative for the family expressed their profound grief, describing Katherine as a “beloved soul” who was remembered for the “light and joy she brought into the world.” Katherine was the eldest of three children adopted by Martin and his late wife, Nancy Dolman, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010. Unlike her father, Katherine chose a life away from the cameras, earning a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California and dedicating her professional life to mental health advocacy and dual-diagnosis treatment at various prestigious Los Angeles clinics.

Her professional peers have been vocal about the “cruel irony” of her passing, noting that Katherine spent her career as a staunch advocate for Bring Change to Mind, a nonprofit dedicated to ending the stigma surrounding mental illness. Colleagues remember her as a deeply compassionate woman who used her father’s signature wit to put her patients at ease while maintaining a fierce commitment to the vulnerable populations she served. As of late February 2026, Martin Short has postponed several of his upcoming tour dates with longtime collaborator Steve Martin to remain in Los Angeles and grieve privately with his sons, Oliver and Henry.

The tragedy has reignited a national conversation about the silent struggles often faced by those in the “helping professions.” While the contents of the note found at the scene remain private, the family continues to ask for space as they process the “unimaginable heartbreak” of losing a daughter who spent her life fighting for the mental well-being of others. This latest loss for the 75-year-old actor, who has often spoken about the “resilience muscle” he built after the early deaths of his parents and brother, has led to an outpouring of support from his Only Murders in the Building co-stars and the broader Broadway and film communities.

Harlow Jane Is Breaking the ‘Nepo Baby’ Mold and Carving a Legacy in 2026

Born into Hollywood royalty, Harlow Jane once wanted to be a lawyer. See how Patricia Arquette’s daughter became a 2026 indie star in her own right.

Harlow Jane Is Breaking the 'Nepo Baby' Mold and Carving a Legacy in 2026

In the “Nepo Baby” discourse of the mid-2020s, Harlow Jane stands out not for her famous lineage, but for her initial, fierce resistance to it. As the daughter of Academy Award-winner Patricia Arquette and action star Thomas Jane, Harlow’s entry into Hollywood was anything but a foregone conclusion.

The Great Rebellion: From Future Lawyer to Indie Star

During her early school years, Harlow Jane did everything in her power to distance herself from the “family business.” In a now-famous interview with People, she recalled telling a career counselor in the first grade that she wanted to be a lawyer. “I definitely rebelled against it for as long as I could,” she noted. To a young Harlow, the sets and makeup trailers that her parents frequented were “mundane” and “boring.”

However, her perspective shifted during her time at an arts-focused boarding school. Surrounded by the “eccentric personalities” of fellow artists, she realized that acting wasn’t just a job her parents did—it was a calling she couldn’t ignore. “I can’t live a lie of wanting to be anything else,” she confessed.

Family Dynamics: Arquette and Jane’s Co-Parenting Masterclass

Harlow was born Harlow Olivia Calliope Jane in February 2003. Although her parents married in 2006 and divorced in 2011, they have remained exceptionally close as co-parents. In February 2026, as Harlow celebrates her 23rd birthday, she is often seen at industry events flanked by both parents, a testament to the healthy, creative environment they fostered.

Her father, Thomas Jane, has been particularly supportive. Coming from a family of scientists, he found it ironic and thrilling that his daughter shared his passion for the arts. Meanwhile, Patricia Arquette has praised Harlow as a “deep person” and a “serious actress” who doesn’t rely on her name to get through the door.

Breakout Roles: ‘High Desert’ and Beyond

Harlow’s professional journey hit a high note in the Apple TV+ series High Desert. In a meta-casting move, she played the younger version of her mother’s character, Peggy Newman. To ensure accuracy, Harlow even worked with a dentist to get artificial teeth that matched her mother’s specific dental structure—a level of dedication that earned her critical acclaim.

By February 2026, Harlow has moved into more experimental territory. Following her roles in the thriller Dig and the rom-com She Came to Me, she is currently developing her own independent projects under the mentorship of director Rebecca Miller. Her goal? To tell stories that reflect the “vibrant, weird, and beautiful” world of the artists who raised her.

Why Harlow Jane is the 2026 “One to Watch”

Harlow Jane is successful because she understands the “technical handshake” of the industry while maintaining the “unvarnished truth” of her own identity. She represents a new generation of Hollywood talent that acknowledges their roots while working twice as hard to prove their individual worth.
