Rachael Lange Issues an Apology for Deleted Tweets Using N Word

Fans are not happy with Rachael Lange’s apology.

Published

on

Since January 20, 2023, Rachael Lange has been facing a massive backlash.

This happened as soon as she was seen holding hands with Dylan O’Brien. People thought she was his girlfriend, so they started researching her.

Soon, they were mortified to find out that Lange was a racist who did not hesitate to use the n word. Moreover, she admitted to being a pedophile, claiming to like “small black children.”

To make matters worse, she had now-deleted tweets about her hating Taylor Swift. O’Brien and Swift are very close, and to see O’Brien’s alleged girlfriend slut-shaming Swift was horrifying to a lot of people.

Needless to say, Lange was called out for her actions. The model deleted tweets and blocked several users as well following the backlash.

Regardless, the damage had been done, and people demanded an apology from her. The Elite Model Management NYC  model private her Twitter and, possibly, hoped that the controversy would die down.

But since it did not, Lange took to Twitter to apologize for her actions.

Rachael Lange’s apology

On January 23, 2022, Lange apologized for her actions via a post on Twitter, claiming she was “mortified and ashamed” of her old posts.

She “wholeheartedly” apologized for the now-deleted tweets. She claimed that she was disgusted by her behavior and the way she spoke.

“I would like to wholeheartedly apologize for past tweets of mine. I am mortified and ashamed that they exist; and am truly disgusted that I ever spoke that way,” she wrote.

She admitted that she heard the people’s concerns and issued an apology for the pain she had caused. “All I can say is that I hear you all and am sorry for the pain I’ve caused and contributed to,” she wrote.

She took responsibility and accountability for her actions and claimed that she was ignorant at the time. She promised that she was not the same anymore.

“I want to make it abundantly clear that I take full responsibility,” she explained. “I was extremely ignorant and while I do not remotely resonate with the things I once said, there is zero justification for my ever having said them.”

At last, she sincerely apologized for hurting people with her words. “I understand the significance that my words have and am deeply sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she concluded.

Reaction to Rachael Lange’s apology

Even though Lange apologized, people were not happy with it. Many complained that her apology was insincere and that she simply did it to save her face.

Moreover, people noted that after the racist tweets and her using the n-word surfaced, Lange’s first reaction was to delete the tweets. Not only that, but she also blocked the people who called her out.

The netizens pointed out that this was Lange’s mechanism to hide her dirty past. They questioned the model and why was her first approach to delete the tweets and not issue an apology sincerely.

After apologizing, Lange has not responded to anything on any platform.

Just a young girl passionate about journalism, pop culture, and drama. She writes Hollywood stories for Glamour Buff and GB Issue at present.

Netflix India Loves Radhika Apte – Four Best Radhika Apte Films and Shows on Netflix

Radhika Apte has had a great run of collaborations with Netflix India. The platform also contains some of Apte’s unmissable performances.

Netflix India And Radhika Apte Are Obsessed With Each Other

2018 was seemingly the year of the great Radhika Apte in cinema. Apte, who has had a string of projects in collaboration with Netflix India, had some major head turning drops within a span of few months in the same year.

With Apte as a lead, Netflix India had not one, not two, but three big-budget back-to-back releases in the summer of 2018: Lust Stories in June, Sacred Games in July, and Ghoul in August. This apparent obsession of Netflix with the actor didn’t go unnoticed by her admirers, and Netflix India smartly played along to the trolls by changing their Instagram bio to “Just another Radhika Apte fan account.”

The filmography of Radhika Apte dates back to the early 2000s. Over the years, Apte has worked in multiple arrays of the Indian Film Industry, where she has been lauded by critics for her small yet impactful roles in films like Manjhi – The Mountain Man, Badlapur, and Hunter for leaving her mark.

However, her career saw an all-time high in 2018 with her OTT and theatre releases, one such project being Sriram Raghavan’s Andhadhun. The film had actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Apte in the lead. It was a commercially successful and critically acclaimed film that earned multiple awards for both the film and its actor. Apte was also seen on R. Balki’s hit Padman starring Akshay Kumar in the same year, which earned her accolades and furthered the argument that she was to be taken seriously.

Apte’s mastery of her craft has been rightly identified by Netflix, and the multiple collaborations she shares with the platform just prove the point. As much as Netflix loves casting Apte, we love to watch her on screen. While Apte has a long list of remarkable performances, we have picked some of our favorites that are easily available on the streaming platform.

Here are our Top 4 Radhika Apte Movies and TV Shows to watch on Netflix.

1. Ghoul (2018)

One of Apte’s 3 big TV show releases of 2018 is Netflix’s miniseries Ghoul. While Ghoul wasn’t as popular of a show compared to her other releases of the same year, it still stands out as one of those underrated horror shows on Netflix. Written and directed by Patrick Graham, the show stars Radhika Apte alongside actors like Ratnabali Bhattacharjee and Maanav Kaul.

The world of Ghoul imagines a dystopian future where humans and demons come alive simultaneously, and these demons are literal. Apte (Nida Rahim) plays a trainee soldier under the National Protection Squad’s Academy. The show’s conflict lies in the subtext of Apte’s dysfunctional relationship with her father, played by S.M. Zaheer, a rebellious professor questioning the government’s moves every step of the way. Apte’s patriotism places her in a moral dilemma with her father, whom she considers an anti-nationalist.

As the story progresses, the social and political commentary of the show is met with a supernatural tone, and the horror genre unfolds. The show is deeply unsettling at times and places the ethical and philosophical stances of its viewers in an uncomfortable impasse, keeping us surprised and entertained throughout. Apte is terrific in her role, and the plot, while slow-paced, gets its job well done.

With only three episodes to its name, Ghoul offers a mixture of horror, thriller, and mystery on the side and could serve as a perfect binge-watch on a day when one is looking for some perceptive scares.

2. Monica, O My Darling (2022)

Vasan Bala’s recent release Monica, O My Darling saw Rajkumar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte in the lead. The neo-noir comedy with a blend of thriller, which also seems to be Indian Directors’ favorite theme recently, offers a funny take on Johnny’s (Rao) tragedy and luck.

Everything in the film is absurd, yet every event adds up to something much larger in this dark crime thriller. The plot follows murder of Monica (Huma Qureshi) and a power-hungry tech-genius, Johnny (Rajkumar Rao).

Official poster of 'Monica O My Darling'

A typical but unconventional who-dun-it, the film doesn’t reveal its real convict until the very last scene. There are problems upon problems, confusion upon confusion, and every time a solution seems afoot, a new problem reveals itself.

The plot is a big win in storytelling, and the suspense is complemented by masterful direction and screenplay. Till then, everyone is a suspect, and who better to tail the suspects than the best tough talker in town, Officer Naidu (Apte)? Apte’s confidence, comic timing, and dedication to the silly accent throughout the second half serve as sprinklers in this delicious, multiple-tiered ice cream cone.

The film’s title is borrowed from one of 70’s super-hit songs, Piya Tu Ab To Aaja. The director doesn’t shy away from his love for the classics throughout the film, making it evident with multiple odes and references. With a run-time of a mere 130 minutes, the viewers get much more than what they signed up for from this atypical chaos, keeping them on their toes until the very end.

3. Raat Akeli Hai (2020)

While we are on the topic of famous songs that are also film titles, the one film that cannot skip the list is Honey Trehan’s directorial debut Raat Akeli Hai. Following Apte’s love for the thriller genre, Raat Akeli Hai is another crime thriller with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Apte in the lead.

The plot of Raat Akeli Hai offers multiple deaths in forms of murders and suicide and a cop who has been assigned to investigate the said crimes. With numerous characters in place, Raat Akeli Hai is oftentimes confusing and hard to follow, but the strong casting and nuanced direction somehow make this noir work.

Apte plays the role of Radha, the mistress of a powerful patriarch, Raghuveer Singh (Khalid Tyabji), who is murdered on the night of his wedding with his mistress. In his course of action to find the killer, Jatil Yadav (Siddiqui) starts developing feelings for Radha.

The complexities of Yadav’s feelings for Radha and Radha’s careful manipulation play out well on the screen. As the plot falls in place, Siddiqui and Apte prove that craft overpowers supposed chemistry, and we are left rooting for them. The pairing is exquisite!

Radhika Apte as Radha in 'Raat Akeli Hai'

The film sheds light on some important issues, such as toxic masculinity, patriarchy, and abuse, that serve as hard-hitting realities even in this modern day and age. However, the story takes its sweet time to untangle itself and may not always make sense to the viewers. Regardless, the best way to get the most out of this complicated piece of art is to be patient with it.

4. Sacred Games (2018)

One of Netflix India’s biggest shows and one of the most popular TV shows in India, this list is incomplete without the mention of Netflix India’s first original series, Sacred Games. All the accolades for the show are in excellent form simply because it deserves it.

Based on a novel of the same name by Vikram Chandra and sharing its contextual

similarities with real-time events of Mumbai during the 80s and the 90s, Sacred Games is the labor of love of three prominent Indian Directors: Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, and Neeraj Ghaywan.

Upon its release, the show observed a commendable demand and response in India and other parts of Asia. The show also had an incredible cast line-up comprising Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, and our favorite Radhika Apte, along with various other actors.

Sacred Games follows the journey of Officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and a gangster named Ganesh Gaitonde (Siddiqui). Sartaj is a disturbed cop who is adamant about saving his beloved city Mumbai, which is supposedly on the brink of destruction within the next 25 days. There is no way to summarize the crux of Sacred Games in a few lines or paragraphs, as every episode is a masterclass on storytelling and plot lines.

Radhika Apte appears as RAW agent Anjali Mathur, an important character in Season 1 of the show. If the reports are to be believed, Mathur’s character was supposed to be a minor one, as in the novel. However, the makers had much more for Apte’s Anjali Mathur because she and the character narrative had much more to offer.

Apte also believes that the success of the show brought her pleasant attention from the industry, adding to her glory in the year that was 2018. What a year for Apte!

The crime thriller offers gangster action, suspense, and drama on a large scale, and even after almost six years of its release, the show remains a fan favorite. Fans of the show were primarily disappointed upon learning that it had been scrapped from Netflix after only two seasons, especially as it ends on a cliffhanger.

If you’re yet to watch Sacred Games, consider yourself lucky and start immediately. If you’ve watched it already, now is a good time to revisit the show. Who knows, maybe you will figure something out that Sartaj didn’t!

‘One Day’ on Netflix Is Mediocre at Best, Woodall and Mod Save the Day

While the show is being lauded for its portrayal of romance and heartbreak, is the 14-episode-long watch actually worth it?

One Day on Netflix Is Mediocre at Best, Woodall and Mod Save the Day

Dexter Mayhew is the guy of the guys, the popular Mr. Handsome, who has probably fallen on every man and woman’s radar in his four years at the University of Edinburgh (including Emma’s). Emma Morley is a working-class girl from Leeds and a bookworm with a double first in English and History.

The story of One Day unfolds when Dexter and Emma catch each other’s attention at the graduation ball on July 14, 1988, and end up spending the night together. To both of their surprises, the two don’t actually have sex, but something much sexier. They indulge in real conversation. This bond they end up building in that one night sets the course for our leads, Dexter and Emma.

Based on a novel by David Nicholls, One Day is a story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew which spans through July 15 of every year for the next 20 years of their lives. The book was first adapted as a screenplay for a feature film of the same name which saw Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess in the lead. Later, it was adapted as a television series for Netflix which premiered on February 8, 2024.

Since its release on Netflix, One Day has received rave reviews. While some of the viewers knew about its adaptational chain, some were taken aback upon finding out that the show is actually based on that film by Hathaway which was based on that book.

The writer personally had some mixed reactions to the show, where the unsatisfactory experience, unfortunately, outweighed the good ones.

Here’s what I think of Netflix’s One Day: likes first and then dislikes.

What I liked about Netflix’s ‘One Day’

One Day is a captivating drama series that intricately weaves together the lives of its characters in a poignant narrative that explores the complexities of human relationships and the passage of time.

Set against the backdrop of a small town, the show unfolds over the course of a single day for 20 years, offering viewers a snapshot of the character’s lives and the interconnectedness of their experiences through all those years.

Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall as Emma and Dexter

At the heart of the series is its ensemble cast, each delivering compelling performances that breathe life into their respective roles. Leo Woodall appears as electric as Dexter Mayhew. The actor is just the right bit of cocky and charming, which makes Woodall’s performance feel right for the show.

Hathaway’s film character is reprised on Netflix’s show by Ambika Mod. This slight but seemingly conscious difference in casting adds a layered context to the content of the novel, which gradually develops from the 1980s.

Mod, as Emma, is talented, intelligent, sarcastic, and sometimes mean, but that little arrogance Mod brings to Morley’s character makes a viewer wonder if she has had to make herself competitive over the years as a brown woman growing up among rich White people to feel like she belongs.

The show’s cinematography is another standout element, with sweeping shots of the picturesque town serving as a stunning backdrop for the unfolding drama. In the 14 episodes, we travel across Europe and the UK along with the characters. The viewers of the show, who are mostly Gen Z or millennials at best, are exposed to what it was like growing up in the 1980s and 90s in Europe and the UK.

The tinted screen with an orange hinge is used smartly to set the universe, which makes the viewers aware at all times that everything that’s happening and everything that we see is set in the past. The calm and steady frames evoke a sense of atmosphere and mood, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

Thematically, One Day explores universal themes such as love, loss, redemption, and the passage of time. Through its cast of characters and their intersecting storylines, it offers a perspective, and a perspective shifts episode after episode.

There’s a lot of grief in the show. From grieving their youths to grieving the loss of their loved ones to grieving themselves as they were in the past, the passage of time is shown in an eloquent way. The story is not of success nor is it of failure. The leads are forever a work in progress, be it in their professional life, personal or emotional regards. This is also one of the most realistic parts of the show, just the fact that life’s not always the same. Every passing moment, no matter how eclectic or miserable, is transient at best.

What I didn’t like about Netflix’s ‘One Day’

While One Day excels in several aspects, it’s not without its flaws. At times, the pacing can feel uneven, with certain subplots dragging on longer than necessary. Additionally, some viewers may find the linear narrative structure monotonous, especially in the early episodes. The show is broken down into fourteen 30-minute episodes, and often feels too lengthy and dragged.

The other hugely disappointing factor about the show is the chemistry between the leads. Woodall and Mod are individually at their best, but their coming together is underwhelming to the core. There is no story there. The leads profess their attraction to one another at different points in their life, and not one of the moments is romantically convincing enough.

The tension between the lead characters remains unexplored and is boiled down to mere sex in the latter part of the show, but it could have been so much more. The ‘time factor’ could easily chime in here. The emotional intimacy, especially from the female lead’s part, is concealed in the form of rude remarks, and while it’s funny at first, it gets boring later on.

Still from Netflix's 'One Day'

The subplots don’t add up. Characters like Tilly and Ian just appear and disappear out of nowhere. Sylvie and Callum’s characters were just swept under the rugs. The weak direction wasn’t able to portray the nature of the leads’ relationship with the supporting characters, leaving the viewers to wonder if the other characters indeed added something of significance to the story.

The climax is, to say the least, lacking. The most obvious, predictable climax was also the least sellable part of the show. It is abrupt and random and feels unnecessary. The novel readers and moviegoers were familiar with what was coming, but that shouldn’t have stopped the makers of the show from pulling all stops to make ‘the moment’ as gut-wrenching as possible.

While Woodall pulls off an immaculate performance in the final episode and tries to make up for the abysmal attempt at the climax, it is still not enough.

The show is being compared to a contemporary adaptation of another successful novel, Normal People. Both shows are about young people discovering themselves with some complicated romantic will-they-won’t-they entanglement along the way. Sadly, this is where the similarities between the shows begin and end. There are no layers to peel on Netflix’s One Day.

All in all, One Day on Netflix is a solid take on the retro romance genre, with two promising up-and-coming actors showcasing their talent. Sadly, it is neither too deep nor very philosophical and oftentimes bland.

The show is also a commitment of a few hours of one’s time. So, if you are looking for a no-brainer romance, this may be a suitable weekend binge, but if you are a character-driven person, it’s best to skip it as the show doesn’t offer anything new or groundbreaking.

Skull and Bones – Ubisoft 200 Million Waste

Know everything!

Published

Lindsey Vonn Still Share Fond Resemblance of Her Mother

Many fans were waiting for the first Triple AAA pirate game a week ago. The world-renowned game developer CEO even promised the first-ever Quadruple A game. However, the reality was quite far from the promises.

Skull and Bones, a video game by Ubisoft, seems to have become a notable example in discussions about video game development challenges, budget management, and project expectations.

The development of Skull and Bones was indeed a subject of concern due to its prolonged production time and escalating costs, which reportedly reached around $200 million. This situation raises several points about the video game industry, project management, and consumer expectations.

Skull and Bones cost Ubisoft 200 million

A new report alleges that Ubisoft’s new pirate game, Skull and Bones, cost roughly $200 million to produce, and the company doesn’t think it’ll make all that money back.

This is according to Insider Gamer, who claimed to have spoken with several Ubisoft employees to discuss the company’s current state and its plans. If this $200 million figure is accurate, it would make Skull and Bones the most expensive video game ever made, at least as far as the general public knows.

Development budgets aren’t typically shared, but considering officially known figures, Cyberpunk 2077 is the most expensive game ever developed at the time of writing, as it costs around $174 million, not including marketing.

Skull And Bones has also been a critical flop, with a current Metacritic score of 64, compared to 83 for Helldivers 2 (nobody has given Palworld a scored review yet, but current assessments are mixed, unlike the very positive rating on Steam).

Skull and Bones’ development has been tumultuous, a severe understatement. Multiple behind-the-scenes reports have documented its troubled history; just last September, it was reported that the game had lost its third creative director.

Even without these reports, it’s evident that progress has been far from smooth, considering Skull and Bones was announced nearly seven years ago, and Ubisoft has publicly delayed it no less than six times.

Many players slammed Skull and Bones for being boring to play. Skull and Bones is focused on updating ships with better weapons, perks, and armor and on aiming to exchange them all as soon as possible for bigger and better ships.

Why are Ubisoft games flopping?

The perception that Ubisoft games have been underperforming or flopping can be attributed to a combination of factors that reflect broader challenges within the video game industry as well as specific decisions made by the company.

While not all Ubisoft games have failed to meet expectations, several high-profile titles have faced criticism and commercial disappointment for reasons such as lack of innovation, technical issues, and market saturation.

One common critique of Ubisoft games is their tendency to rely on a formulaic approach to game design. Many of their franchises, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Watch Dogs, have been criticized for repetitive gameplay mechanics and a lack of innovation across sequels.

While this strategy can ensure a consistent level of quality and familiarity for fans, it can also lead to franchise fatigue, where players become disinterested due to perceived sameness.

Disappointment of Assassin’s Creed Games

Several Ubisoft games have launched with significant technical issues, undermining player trust and satisfaction. High-profile examples include the problematic launch of Assassin’s Creed Unity, which was plagued by bugs and performance problems. These issues can stem from tight development timelines that prioritize meeting fiscal targets over delivering a polished product.

The video game market is highly competitive, with numerous high-quality games vying for players’ time and money. Ubisoft’s titles compete with those from other major studios, and a growing number of indie games often offer unique experiences or innovative gameplay at a lower price point.

Additionally, Ubisoft’s focus on open-world games means they are directly competing in one of the most saturated segments of the market.

There’s been growing scrutiny and backlash from the gaming community regarding the use of microtransactions and aggressive monetization strategies in AAA games. Some players feel that Ubisoft has overly embraced these practices, detracting from the gameplay experience and pushing players towards additional spending to enjoy or complete their games fully.
