In another instance, Sara shared a picture via Instagram where she was seen sitting in a car and enjoying the mesmerizing sunset. After she shared the photo, netizens believed that the vehicle was Gill’s Thar. And all of these further fueled the dating rumors.
As months and years passed by, the rumors got even stronger. In late January 2023, it was rumored that Gill and Sara got engaged to be married. These speculations were initiated after a Twitter [now called X] handle under the username @hrsyadv made a tweet.
The tweet read, “BREAKING: Sachin Tendulkar announces daughter Sara’s engagement with #ShubmanGill.” This tweet became instant viral, garnering over 10,900 likes and 708 reposts. Fans began wondering by thinking Sara would be the wife of Shubman Gill.
However, as it turns out, it was a parody tweet, and Sachin never made the announcement of his daughter’s engagement with Gill. The account handler later replied to the original tweet and wrote, “It’s a satire tweet guys! Don’t take it seriously.”
And while the engagement rumors turned out to be false, this didn’t stop the rumors of them being in a romantic relationship. And just a month later, on Valentine’s Day 2023, these rumors were again fueled by Gill and Sara.

As for how that happened, the rumored couple took to their respective Instagram handles to share a single picture of themselves. And while it was a regular photo, eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed that the background cafe in their image was the same.
It meant that the two were together in the same place, that too, on Valentine’s Day. This almost confirmed that they were dating, and their rumored love story was practically proven. But despite the obvious, nothing has been confirmed or proven to date.
To this date, neither Gill nor Sara has confirmed or denied their dating rumors. So, until anything is confirmed or denied by the two, nothing can be said about their rumored relationship. So, for now, they’re just a rumored couple.
Shubman Gill’s dating history explored
Much like his present relationship status, the details about Gill’s dating history also remain in the darkness. The Indian cricket star has never opened up about his past dating experiences and always kept the details of his love life up to himself only.
However, despite all his privateness, he has been romantically linked with two Indian actresses: Rashmika Mandanna and Sara Ali Khan. Gill was linked with Mandanna after a social media post of him saying he had a crush on Mandanna went viral.
This post was noticed by Gill, who later clarified that he never said anything of this sort. He even took to his Instagram stories to share a screenshot of the viral post and captioned it with, “Which media interaction was this that I myself don’t know anything about.”
As for Gill being linked with Khan, it all started after the cricketer appeared on Sonam Bajwa’s Punjabi talk show Dil Diya Gallan. During his appearance, he opened up about his admiration for Khan. And when asked if he would date her, he replied, “Maybe, maybe not.”
The host, Bajwa, then asked, “Sara ka sara sach bolo,” which translates to “Tell the whole truth.” Gill responded with a smile as he said, “Sara da sara sach bol diya,” which translates to “I have told the whole truth.”

This sparked rumors of Gill possibly dating Khan despite being linked with Sara for years. Later, in June 2023, Khan was interviewed by Filmfare, where she talked about the possibility of getting married to a cricketer amid her dating rumors with Gill.
She was asked if she would follow in the footsteps of her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore, and marry a cricketer. In reply, Khan mentioned that a man’s profession is irrelevant to her. Her statement read;
“I think that the kind of person that I am, to find somebody it doesn’t matter what they do — actor, cricketer, businessman, doctor… Maybe not doctors, they will run away. But you know the truth is that jokes apart, you will need to match me on the mental and intellectual level.”
“And if you can do that, I think it’s great, wow but I think that would matter to me much, much more (than the profession),” she added. After that, she was asked if she was dating anyone from the Indian cricket team.
“I’ll be honest with you, I think, and I can say this with surety, I think the person I am going to be in my life I have not met so far. I really don’t think so,” Khan replied.
Many thought this was Khan declining her dating rumors with Gill, whereas some thought she avoided the obvious. However, nothing can be said until either party confirms or denies these rumors.

With his outstanding performance, the Kolkata Knight Riders batsman led the team to the IPL championship in 2024. He also played a huge part in the team’s 2021 campaign where they were the runners-up.
In addition to his professional success, Iyer once gained national attention for his sly comment on a Telugu starlet’s post.

A heated debate regarding whether Telugu actress Priyanka Jawalkar was the girlfriend of Iyer broke out after he left a comment on Jawalkar’s photo on Instagram.

The actress posted a beautiful picture of herself with the caption “Boo” to her official Instagram account, smiling and hiding behind some curtains.
Iyer, in the meantime, added a statement that later prompted dating rumors. On the Telugu actress’ photo, he wrote “Cute!!,” to which she responded, “Who? You?”
Fans of the player couldn’t help but gush at the thought of romance blooming between the two, judging by Jawalkar’s response to his comment.
However, Iyer and Jawalkar did not respond to the rumors.

Iyer made his Twenty20 debut in March 2015 at Holkar Stadium against the Railways cricket side.
In December of the same year, Iyer, studying for a Bachelor of Commerce degree, made his List A debut against the Saurashtra cricket team at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium.
He decided to drop out of college after clearing the CA Intermediate exams and enrolled in a Master of Business Administration in finance to continue playing cricket.
On December 6, 2018, the cricketer made his Madhya Pradesh first-class debut during the Ranji Trophy for the 2018–19 season.
