Lisa Marie Presley Had Close Relationship with John Travolta

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of the legendary Elvis Presley and his wife Priscilla Presley, formed a remarkably close relationship with fellow actor John Travolta.

Their friendship transcended the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, as they found solace and support in each other during both joyous and challenging times.

Despite the age difference and early rumors, their connection remained steadfast, rooted in mutual respect and understanding.

Through their unwavering support for one another, Lisa and Travolta proved that true friendship knows no bounds and can flourish in even the most extraordinary circumstances.

How did Lisa Marie Presley and John Travolta meet?

Following the untimely death of Lisa’s father, Elvis, Priscilla sought to bring some joy into her daughter’s life and utilized her connections in Hollywood to arrange a meeting between Lisa and Travolta.

Their initial encounter took place when Lisa was just 11 years old, while Travolta was in his mid-twenties. However, any speculations of a romantic relationship between the two are false.

Nonetheless, an apparent connection between Priscilla and Travolta was evident during this time, leading to a few secretive outings together but reportedly did not go any further.

During their time together, Travolta took the opportunity to discuss his involvement in the Church of Scientology with Priscilla. Having been a member since 1975, he extended an invitation for her to explore the teachings and practices of Scientology for herself.

Priscilla, finding the experience to be spiritually welcoming, decided to join the Church in 1977. Consequently, Lisa became affiliated with the institution as well.

Lisa Marie Presley supported John Travolta after the death of his son Jett

In the aftermath of the heartbreaking loss of Travolta’s son, Jett, Lisa stepped forward as a staunch supporter for her devastated friends.

Jett, the eldest child of Travolta and Preston, had been afflicted by seizures from a young age and was later diagnosed with Kawasaki syndrome and autism.

During a family trip to the Bahamas, Jett suffered a severe seizure while bathing, resulting in a devastating fall that claimed his life in 2009.

Instead of receiving sympathy, Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston, found themselves wrongly blamed for their son’s tragic death, as baseless rumors spread that their involvement in Scientology was somehow responsible.

When Jett passed away, the ambulance driver who had taken him to the hospital made a threat to spread the lie to the media that Travolta and Preston had refused to give Jett life-saving medical attention.

The ambulance driver attempted to blackmail Travolta for $25 million to prevent this falsehood from being revealed.

Travolta and Preston refused the suggestion and sued him. He chose not to proceed with a new trial after a mistrial was declared as a result of a politician claiming to know the verdict before it was reached.

During the trial, it was clear what information the ambulance driver planned to disclose to the media, leading others to wonder if medical care was allowed in Scientology.

As a result, Travolta and Preston soon found themselves raising a child as members of a cult that forbade the use of modern medicine to treat Jett in the Bahamas.

Lisa, witnessing the onslaught of misinformation and the toll it took on her friends, felt compelled to speak out and set the record straight regarding Scientology’s beliefs regarding modern medicine.

Taking to her MySpace blog, Presley referred to Travolta and Preston as “the sweetest people in the world” and expressed her deep empathy for the pain they were enduring.

Presley’s statement aimed to dispel the misconceptions surrounding Scientology, asserting that religion does not discourage medical care, medicine, or the involvement of medical professionals, regardless of the circumstances.

She said, “Whatever medical and or physical condition Jett had, I can tell you first hand that his parents were on a tireless, never-ending quest to get and provide him with the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for.”

John Travolta paid tribute to his late friend Lisa Marie Presley

In the wake of the tragic passing of Lisa, Travolta, a longtime friend of the late star, paid a heartfelt tribute.

Lisa’s sudden demise on January 12, 2023, following a cardiac arrest, left her loved ones devastated. The news was confirmed by her mother as she expressed, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” to People.

Amid this profound loss, the family requested privacy to cope with their grief, appreciating the outpouring of love and prayers they received.

Travolta, who shared a close bond with Lisa, expressed his deep sorrow at her untimely passing. Taking to Instagram the next day, January 13, 2023, he posted a poignant tribute to his dear friend.

Travolta wrote, “Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again,” alongside a picture of the actress who was 54 years old at the time of her death.

Furthermore, the renowned actor extended his love and heartfelt condolences to Riley Keough, Lisa’s children, Priscilla, her mother, and Harper Vivienne Ann Lockwood and Finley Aaron Love Lockwood, her twin daughters.

John Waters Hates Discussing His Dating History Publicly

John Waters is a very private person who does not talk about his dating history and married life.

He is a filmmaker, writer, actor, and artist from the United States. Multiple Maniacs (1970), Pink Flamingos (1972), and Female Trouble (1974) catapulted him to popularity in the early 1970s as subversive cult flicks.

He wrote and directed the comedy picture Hairspray (1988), which became a worldwide blockbuster and was later transformed into a successful Broadway musical and a musical film in 2007. Polyester (1981), Cry-Baby (1990), Serial Mom (1994), Pecker (1998), and Cecil B. Demented (2000) are among the numerous films he has written and directed.

Water’s professional life has been documented well for everyone to see. Unfortunately, not the same can be said about his personal life.

Here is all we know about them.

John Waters’s dating history

As said before, Waters is very secretive about his dating history and personal life.

He is an openly gay man, as a result, he does not have a wife or is married to a woman. Similarly, there is no news of him having any children.

In a 2019 interview with the Washington Blade, Waters revealed that he had a partner. However, he did not mention anything about his dating history with his partner.

He claimed that the pair preferred to keep their relationship private. He said, “If you don’t keep some things private, you don’t have a personal life. It’s the same thing I say, I have some restaurant receipts that are not tax-deductible. That means I have a personal life. When I read celebrities are telling everything, I think, don’t you have any friends?”

At the time of writing, it is unknown if he is still together with his partner.

Talking about his dating history, Waters has not explicitly mentioned anything. However, during his conversation with Pop Matters, he revealed that he had a lot of friends with benefits.

He claimed that he liked Valentine’s Day and did not receive Valentine’s from many people. He said, “I don’t get many. I get some from fans, my mother sends me one, usually family. My friend Pat Moran sends me one, and every once in a while, a couple of my ‘friends with benefits’ have sent me one.”

John Waters’s parents and family

Waters was born on April 22, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, as one of four children of his parents, Patricia and John Samuel, a fire-protection equipment maker.

His mother raised him as a Roman Catholic, despite the fact that his father was not. He is the great-great-great-grandson of George Price Whitaker of the Whitaker iron family through his mother, who moved to the United States as a youngster from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Waters grew raised in Lutherville, Maryland, a Baltimore suburb. He resided at 313 Morris Avenue in Lutherville from his early adolescence into his early twenties.

He attended the Calvert School in Baltimore for private education. He graduated from Boys’ Latin School of Maryland after attending Towson Jr. High School in Towson, Maryland, and Calvert Hall College High School in adjacent Towson.

John Waters’s net worth and career

Waters is an American filmmaker, writer, producer, actor, and artist with a net worth of $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Waters is likely best known for writing, directing, and producing Hairspray, a 1988 film that was later transformed into an award-winning Broadway musical.

In 1964, Waters released his debut short film, Hag in a Black Leather Jacket, the start of his journey in the entertainment industry. He wrote, directed, produced, edited, and filmed the film, and he did the same for his succeeding short films, Roman Candles (1966), Eat Your Makeup (1968), and The Diane Linkletter Story (1970), as well as four of his feature films.

Mondo Trasho was Waters’s debut feature picture, released in 1969, and was followed by Multiple Maniacs in 1970. The first film in his Trash Trilogy, Pink Flamingos, was released in 1972, and he completed the trilogy with 1974’s Female Trouble and 1977’s Desperate Living.

Waters delegated cinematography for the first time with Polyester, hiring film student David Insley as the principal camera operator. In 1988, John published the comedy Hairspray, which was transformed into a 2002 Broadway musical that won eight Tony Awards.

Waters was a co-producer and consultant on the 2007 film adaptation of the musical. He also appears in both films, as Dr. Fredrickson in the original and as a Flasher in the 2007 remake. Cry-Baby, John’s follow-up to Hairspray, became a Broadway musical in 1990 and was nominated for four Tony Awards in 2008.

Waters directed Serial Mom in 1994, starring Kathleen Turner, Sam Waterston, Ricki Lake, and Matthew Lillard, and made an uncredited appearance as Ted Bundy. Waters again appeared as ‘Pervert on Phone’ in his following film, Pecker, released in 1998.

Waters wrote, directed, and starred in the 2000 black comedy Cecil B. Demented as a reporter. In 2004, he wrote A Dirty Shame, which stars Tracey Ullman, Johnny Knoxville, Selma Blair, and Chris Isaak.

In a 2013 interview with The Guardian, Waters was asked why he hadn’t created another picture since A Dirty Shame, to which he replied, “It didn’t make any money.”

He said, “It didn’t make any money. They want you to make independent films for half a million bucks, and for me, a film would cost around $5m. It’s a great time to be a first-time filmmaker, but not me.”

Though he hasn’t made a film since 2004, John has stayed busy on television, guest-starring in My Name Is Earl (2007), Feud: Bette and Joan (2017), The Blacklist (2018), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2020-2021), as well as serving as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race (2015) and acting as an associate producer on NBC’s Hairspray Live!

It was revealed in October 2022 that Waters will convert his novel Liarmouth into a film. Waters will write and direct the film, which will be produced by Village Roadshow Pictures.

If you’re curious to learn more about Matheson’s marriage with all three of his wives, continue reading the article until the end.

Tim Matheson’s first marriage to Jennifer Leak lasted just three years

Matheson and Leak initially crossed paths as co-stars in the 1967 movie Yours, Mine, and Ours, with Matheson portraying Michael Beardsley and Leak playing Colleen North.

Their first meeting eventually led to them dating, and they wasted no time in embarking on a new chapter together by tying the knot on September 28, 1968.

After approximately three years of being in a marital relationship, the couple decided to part ways. However, the specific reasons for their separation have not been disclosed.

Apart from these details, very little is known about the couple’s married life, as they mostly kept their relationship private.

Tim Matheson and Megan Murphy Matheson were married for two decades

Tim first crossed paths with his second wife, Megan, in 1984, but they haven’t shared the story of how they met. Much like his previous relationship, the actor didn’t hesitate and quickly tied the knot on June 29, 1995.

Throughout their relationship, the former couple frequently made public appearances at various events. Notably, on September 24, 1988, Tim and his wife attended a fundraiser hosted by Don Henley for Los Angeles City Council Candidate Lisa Specht at Don Henley’s residence in Beverly Hills, California.

After dating for a year, in March 2018, Tim and Elizabeth celebrated their love by exchanging vows in a joyful ceremony held in Los Angeles, California.

Following their heartwarming wedding, the actor shared his happiness with the world by posting a picture from the ceremony on his Facebook page.

For their special wedding day, Tim opted for an understated yet impeccably tailored suit and complementing tie, showcasing a refined and sophisticated style, while Elizabeth looked absolutely beautiful in her white dress, which made the ceremony even more special.

Based on the pictures the actor posted on Facebook, their wedding ceremony took place in an unconventional setting. It didn’t resemble a typical wedding venue; instead, it appeared to be a casual outdoor location near a building.

Similarly, about 20 to 30 close friends and family members gathered to celebrate with Tim and Elizabeth. There weren’t any assigned seats, so everyone just stood around, creating an informal yet heartfelt atmosphere.

In the month following their wedding, Tim and his now-wife went on their honeymoon in Japan. The actor shared two photos from their trip on April 19, 2018, on Instagram.

The first picture captured both of them standing on a picturesque, ancient-looking street in Japan, while the second one featured Elizabeth participating in a Geisha-themed photoshoot in Kyoto.
