Isaie’s father was supportive from a young age about how she wanted to be an actress. He did not care what it was, but he wanted to see his daughter happy.
She gushed about her father and said, “He supported me from day one. ‘Whatever you want to do Dan, you are going to be brilliant, you are gonna be great, you are the best.’ Every day he drilled into me, ‘There is nothing you can’t do, you know you’re beautiful, you’re talented’.”
However, the same cannot be said for her mother. Her mother did not want Isaie to bear all the heartaches and ‘No’ she would receive in her career.
Similarly, she did not want the actress to bear the financial insecurities that came along with the job. She believed the entertainment industry was too risky to allow her daughter to enter.
Initially, she encouraged it and allowed her daughter to go to drama school and theater as a kid. However, when Isaie confessed that she wanted to pursue acting as a career, her mother disagreed.
“When I came to adulthood and I said this is what I’m doing [as a career], she started to discourage me and said no, get a trade, go to uni or do this or do that but it was all born out of love because she wasn’t sure where this acting career will take me,” Isaie revealed.
Despite her multiple roles, Isaie highlighted significant lessons she has learned as an actress. She emphasized that establishing a resilient mentality is one of the most important lessons.
She stated that rejection is normal in the acting industry, even after several auditions. Perseverance and faith in herself had kept her going.
She noted, “With acting, every day, every other week you are getting rejected, No’s, No’s, No’s, and then you get one yes and then you will get so many Nos and then yes.”
This would lead one to be insecure and make themselves question, “Am I good enough? Am I doing something wrong?”
“All these questions and then you just have to say, No, No, No, they are missing out, I’m good and I’m going to keep pursuing this, this is my destiny. So, you just have to not let those things weigh you down,” Isaie pointed out.
