Mark Hoppus has been actively providing his health updates ever since he revealed his cancer diagnosis in April 2021.
While Blink-182‘s bassist was declared cancer free in September 2021, he still has to do some occasional treatment. For instance, his fans were again worried when he revealed that he had reoccurring symptoms.
Thankfully, there is not much to worry about, at least in the meantime. This is because Hoppus gave the latest update on his health on Sunday, February 4, 2024, revealing he is fine and still cancer free.
He took to his Instagram story, where he posted a picture of himself lying in a hospital bed. The photo revealed he was in a small private room with a hospital wristband on his right hand.
Similarly, on the same hand, the nurses had infused him with something, probably a Saline Solution IV Drip Fluid and not Cancer Chemotherapy Infusion Intravenous Drip, as Hoppus revealed the cancer wasn’t back.
Over the photo, the American musician wrote, “Got scanned the morning I left LA after recurring symptoms. I thought for sure it was back.” “Still cancer free. Thank you God. Thank you Universe. Love you all. Let’s. [explicit]. Go.,” he added.
This joyous news was met with excitement by his fans, who were happy to learn that the singer was still in good health. For instance, when a Reddit user posted Hoppus’ Instagram story on the platform, another user wrote, “May it stay that way!”
One Redditor opened up about their own cancer journey and commented, “Had cancer myself. Sometimes symptoms linger. It’s not fun. For me, the symptoms have been excruciating – swollen lymph nodes, high body temperature, and so much more.”

“(I do also have hyperthyroidism I finally am getting help with and the symptoms are pretty similar!) I hope he finds a way to balance his body back, it takes a lot of time and effort,” the same Reddit user concluded his comment.
Likewise, one wrote, “Happy to hear he’s doing well!” with another Redditor adding, “This story aged me about 10 years when I read it this morning. So glad he’s okay! I don’t really like celebrities but I do have quite the soft spot for Mark.”
Speaking a little of Hoppus’ cancer journey, he was diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in April 2021. However, he initially didn’t reveal the news to the public and fought the battle privately. In June 2021, he finally revealed his cancer diagnosis.
In a social media post, he wrote, “For the past three months, I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer. It sucks, and I’m scared, and at the same time, I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.”
“I still have months of treatment ahead of me, but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all,” he concluded his statement.
After battling diffuse large B-cell lymphoma – a blood cancer his mother also had – for months and going through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, Hoppus revealed in September 2023 that he beat cancer and was in remission.
In another social media post, he stated, “Just saw my oncologist, and I’m cancer free!! Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love.”
“Still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?” the co-lead vocalist of Blink-182 concluded his joyous news.

Since being cancer free, Hoppus has been getting back to living life the way he used to. For instance, in April 2022, he was approached by a TMZ reporter while on a rare outing with his wife, Skye. The reporter then asked the musician how he was doing.
Hoppus replied that his life was great and that he was glad to be there. Furthermore, he mentioned that he was getting back to going out in public and wanted to head back to the studio, get off his couch, get back to playing music, and hopefully release new music soon.
