Nonetheless, those barriers didn’t stop the married couple from maintaining a happy marital relationship. They learned each other’s languages, and before long, they welcomed their first child, a son named Tommy Lee, on October 3, 1962.
Lee was born while the couple still lived in Athens, Greece. And around a year after his birth, David and Vassiliki decided to move to California. Sometime after settling, on December 8, 1964, the duo welcomed their second child and Tommy’s sibling, a daughter named Athena Lee.
As years passed, David and Vassiliki’s relationship continued. But it had its ups and downs, like any other relationship. It might be possible that the two split at some point, as it’s reported that David was married twice – the second marriage was with Lois Lavonne Aultman.

Things might have sorted out between David and Vassiliki, as the latter was by the former’s bedside, taking care of him every day before his death. David and Vassiliki’s love story ended in 2001 when David passed away.
Tommy mentioned in his book that his father told him he wasn’t afraid before his death. He quoted his father and wrote, “I’ve got amazing kids. I’ve had an amazing life. I’m ready. I love your mother, and I loved my life.”
As for Tommy’s mother, Vassiliki followed her husband 11 years later, as she took her final breath on March 9, 2012. Tommy took to Twitter to announce the sad news as he tweeted, “One of the loves of my life has gone. My Dear Mother has passed ;(.”
And although they are gone, the Mötley Crüe drummer always has a place in his heart for his parents. He occasionally shares pictures of his dad and mom, along with a heartfelt caption.

He had written more paragraphs in all caps and ultimately ended his statement by writing, “BECAUSE WE KNOW WHAT “KEFI” (JOY IN THE FUN?) MEANS AND HOW TO LIVE IT. PROUD GREEK SOUL!”
