It looked like her teeth were damaged by coffee, probably red wine, and nicotine, the last one being the result of her constant smoking habit. This immediately caused concern among many, with some even criticizing the actress’s partying lifestyle.
Many of Lohan’s fans and prominent media outlets criticized her. For instance, The Sun described her teeth as “seriously chipped and discolored.” Others blamed the actress’s hard-partying and drug-using lifestyle.
At the time, her representatives didn’t provide any explanation regarding Lohan’s poor dental health. However, they did try to do damage control. In a statement to People Magazine, Lohan’s rep, Steve Honig, said that she is still a beautiful actress.
He stated, “Lindsay is widely acknowledged as one of the most stunning actresses of her day, and we get requests every week wanting to do photo shoots with her from top photographers. She’s been on the cover of Vanity Fair and the top beauty and fashion magazines.”
“She’s a beautiful and glamorous actress. With everything going on – from deteriorating public education to rampant homelessness to international unrest – there is no way I’m going to comment on Lindsay’s teeth,” he concluded his statement.

The exact thing that happened with Lohan’s teeth remains unknown. To date, neither the actress nor her representatives have offered any specifics. However, outlets like E! Online took matters into their own hands to learn what happened to Lohan’s teeth.
E! Online hired reputed cosmetic dentist Dr. Arthur Glosman to examine Lohan’s pictures, especially her teeth, from Saints Row: The Third‘s red carpet event. Upon close inspection, Glosman stated that the actress immediately needed a dentist.
He stated, “While Lindsay Lohan is not a patient of mine, and I have not examined her teeth, in the photographs, it appears she has some serious dental problems that need immediate professional dental attention.”
Glosman mentioned that while Lohan is a beautiful young lady, her smile indicates health problems. He added that she seems to have yellow-stained teeth chipped at the edges and possible tooth decay.
He also listed some of the causes behind her poor dental health, including lack of oral hygiene, smoking, and drinking too much coffee, tea, and soda. “She should visit her dentist for a thorough exam and treatment protocol immediately,” he added.
Thankfully, Lohan listened to all the backlash about her teeth and fixed them. In late October 2011, she took to her WhoSay page to post a picture of her newly cleaned teeth. She wrote, “Thanks Dr. Dorfman for the zoom. My gums are so sore though!”
However, fans were still concerned because, along with her new teeth, there was a cigarette and what seemed to be alcohol on her table. And rightfully so, her new teeth didn’t last, and fans were again worried about her well-being.

But she again got her teeth fixed, and by 2018, her teeth were back to their glory days: sparkling white and chip-less. Since then, her teeth haven’t made any headlines, and fans are happy to know Lohan is taking good care of her dental health.
Lindsay Lohan has a smoking problem
While Lohan’s teeth might be fixed, it seems like her smoking problem might not be getting fixed anytime soon. As far as netizens know, the actress has always been seen smoking in public or at parties.
For instance, one netizen posted a picture of Lohan from 2008, in which she was seen leaving a convenience store with a bottle of soft drink, a packet of chips, and two big packets of cigarettes. “Lindsay Lohan leaving the store with 400 cigarettes, 2008,” they captioned.

Later on, she went to rehab to quit her tobacco and other substance addiction. And while she might have taken control of the other substance addiction, she wasn’t able to quit smoking cigarettes, as she was seen puffing outside the rehab center in June 2013.
On July 28, 2016, fans grew concerned over Lohan when she was seen partying – smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. The concern was mainly because she had told her father, Michael, that she was pregnant with a baby.
