Lacey Chabert on Spending Holidays with Parents and Siblings
Lacey Chabert has a close relationship with her parents and siblings.
American actress Lacey Chabert talked about her favorite Christmas memories after playing numerous roles in holiday films over the years.
Since Chabert’s role in the 2012 made-for-TV film Matchmaker Santa, she has established herself as the go-to actress for Christmas movies. She also made her appearance in several Christmas movies, including Rome, Winter in Vail, and Christmas at Castle Hart.
Following her Christmas movies, the actress stated that she loves Christmas in real life and spending time with her family during the holidays. In an interview with Southern Living, Chabert said, “I genuinely love Christmas and anyone who knows me knows that I’m pretty Christmas obsessed.”
She added, “In December, I’m even more excited because I can just relax and stay in my pajamas and cook and eat everything and be with my family and watch movies and play.”
Similarly, Chabert recalled childhood memories during the holiday. She did not get to see much snow while she grew up in Mississippi, and the first time she did was during Christmas when she was about five years old. At that time, the actress was more excited about the snow than opening their presents.
Chabert’s family also has holiday food traditions. She used to make pecan pie, which is made with white sweet potatoes, real vanilla beans, real homemade whipped cream, and pralines. Furthermore, because she is from the South and her father is from Louisiana, they usually have gumbo and potato salad on Christmas Day.
Lacey Chabert’s early life
Chabert was born and raised in Purvis, Mississippi, where she lived for nearly a decade. Her family lived next door to her grandmother, with whom she was very close.

The actress was so close to her grandmother that she regularly carries her watch around in her purse. She told Southern Living, “One of my favorite childhood memories is baking with my grandmother in her kitchen. She was one of my very best friends and my biggest cheerleader, so her passing was heartbreaking but I love that I have those memories with her of cooking in her kitchen.”
Later, her family moved from Purvis to Manhattan. They planned to stay in Manhattan for a short time, but things changed when she and her sister got career opportunities there.
Lacey Chabert’s career
Chabert has had an interest in acting since she was a child. At the age of nine, she landed a role in the iconic musical Les Misérables. She also played the fictional Erica Kane’s daughter on All My Children from 1992 to 1993. Later, the actress rose to prominence as a child actress after starring as Claudia Salinger in the Fox television drama Party of Five.
Some of her other films include Lost in Space, Not Another Teen Movie, Mean Girls, and many others. Chabert also voiced Eliza Thornberry in the Nickelodeon animated series The Wild Thornberrys and Meg Griffin during the first season of the animated sitcom Family Guy.
The actress attributes her success to her parents and siblings. “Looking back now as an adult, I’m incredibly grateful that my parents were so protective and did their best to always put my well-being above any career decision,” she told Fox 411 in 2013.

So, to get the opportunity to play a Queen, I celebrate that.”
