According to Kansan, the Braun family’s house had always been divided since they got married. Lisa gave an example of celebrating Christmas at their house where they would have two trees — one was a family tree and another for Christian and his siblings.
On the kids’ tree, they had ornaments from both Kansas and Missouri. One night, when Christian was seven, he woke up and began taking off all the Missouri ornaments.
Lisa said, “I go ‘what in the world’ and he [Christian] says ‘I don’t want Missouri [ornaments] on my tree. And I’m like, ‘well, what about if I do’, and he was having none of it. So he’s always been that way.”
Christian’s parents have often mentioned how the NBA player takes after his mom. Don told WIBW, “I think anybody who saw her play back in the day knows that toughness is how he was raised. I don’t think anybody who plays for Bill Self is not on the floor unless they’re tough.”
