Fact-Checking & Corrections Policy

Our Commitment to Accuracy

At Glamour Buff, we believe that trust is the most important element of journalism. We are dedicated to providing our readers with the “unvarnished truth” regarding Hollywood news, internet stardom, and sports. To maintain this trust, we employ a rigorous “line-by-line, word-by-word” fact-checking process for every story we publish.

The Fact-Checking Process

Led by our Managing Editor, Arun Katuwal, our editorial team follows a multi-step verification workflow before any content goes live:

  • Primary Source Verification: We prioritize first-hand information, including official statements, verified social media accounts, and direct interviews, rather than simply “transcribing” news from other outlets.
  • Triaging Facts: Every factual claim—including names, dates, ages, and quotes—is marked and verified against at least two independent sources.
  • Originality & Context: In line with our Writing Guidelines, every article must provide “Information Gain”—unique insights or data that aren’t available in the original source material.
  • Visual Integrity: Images and videos are vetted for relevance and authenticity. We avoid images with embedded location data to protect the privacy of all parties involved.

Handling Quotes and Attribution

  • Accuracy in Quotes: We do not rearrange wording or take quotes out of context. Light grammatical corrections (like removing “um” or “er”) are the only changes permitted.
  • Transparent Sourcing: All sources are clearly named and attributed unless there is a specific safety risk. We provide direct hyperlinks to source material so our readers can replicate our verification process.

Corrections & Updates Policy

Accuracy is our goal, but when we make a mistake, we admit it openly and correct it promptly.

  • Standard Corrections: If a material error is identified, we update the article and add a clear “Correction Note” at the top or bottom of the page. This note explains what was wrong, what the correct information is, and the date the change was made.
  • Clarifications: If a story is factually accurate but lacks sufficient context or is potentially misleading, we will issue a “Clarification” to ensure total transparency.
  • Retractions: In rare cases where an article fails to meet our ethical or factual standards entirely, we will issue a formal retraction and explain why the content was removed.
