Shawn Booth recently surprised Bachelor Nation when he revealed he would be a dad.
On the Monday, July 17 episode of his podcast, In The Booth with Shawn Booth, he spilled the beans that he and his secret girlfriend were pregnant with their first baby.
In almost the 19th minute of the episode, Booth started talking about a big announcement. “I am going to be a dad,” he said. His co-hosts didn’t believe it for a second, but Booth mentioned that he was serious and felt good after saying it aloud.
“It feels good. Yeah, fatherhood,” he added before revealing his baby’s due date, December 12, 2023. He stated, “December 12, baby Booth on their way. It’s happening. I’m going to be a father.”
Podcast co-host Sami Shea then mentioned that it would be a jam-packed December for Booth. She said, “My friend here loves Christmas almost as much as I do; wants to be a dad more than anyone I know, that also takes place in December.”
“December Bike Challenge,” Booth added, to which Shea replied, “The December Bike Challenge. Nobody is hornier for a stationary bike challenge than John Christopher Booth.”
That said, ever since Booth revealed he is going to be a father in December 2023, fans have been going through hoops to find out more about who is the mother of his baby. Many have also been speculating about the baby mama. But who is she?

In the podcast, Booth didn’t reveal any details that would reveal the identity of his life partner. However, he did mention a few details about the person with whom he is expecting a baby.
He said, “The mother is somebody who I’ve been close with for years, and we’ve had a relationship, and we’ve dated. This just isn’t some random girl I met at Honky Tonk Central. This is a big surprise for the both of us.”

“I mean, open and honest, this wasn’t something that was planned, but it will be and is the most beautiful surprise I’ve ever had in my life. And it’s gonna be very special. Yeah, I can’t wait. I’m ready. I’m 37 years old. I’ve always wanted to be a dad,” he added.
As Booth continued, he mentioned that his girlfriend might appear on the podcast soon if she is up for it. He also said it’s not easy for her as she is going through pregnancy and keeping it under wraps, which is tricky.
He said that only his partner initially told her close family and friends, and he waited 10 to 12 weeks to tell anybody. “I was kind of just walking around with and not talking about it, which is crazy. I told a couple of people and then told our close family and close friends.”
The reality TV star then told a little story about how his girlfriend wasn’t going to the gym as she was afraid everyone would know she was pregnant. “I was like come back to the gym, get in there, let’s not worry about what anybody says,” he recalled telling his secret partner.
“And Nashville’s a small town, and people talk. I got her to come back to the gym, and yeah, after that, then everybody in Nashville knew pretty much,” he concluded. Ultimately, he also revealed that his girlfriend is about 18 weeks pregnant.
The talk continued, and at one point, the former Bachelorette star praised his baby mama for being tough in this overwhelming journey. He said, “She’s going to be such a good mother. And it’s going to be incredible. She’s been an absolute champ, a rock star through it all.”
Moreover, Booth had a response to all the people who might critique his path to fatherhood. He stated, “I’m sure there will be a lot of people who have thoughts and opinions and all that.”
He continued, “And I think now probably more than ever, I’ve gotten to a point where I’m like, ‘I don’t care what anybody thinks.’ If they’re like,’ you’re not married.’ It’s like, ‘Listen, that’s not what’s important here.’”
Furthermore, he told the co-hosts and listeners that he and his partner would not do a gender reveal and would incorporate his and his girlfriend’s last names when naming their child.
