England veteran football star and Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling is determined to stay at Chelsea and look to win trophies. He is set to snub millions in wages by snubbing a transfer to Saudi Arabia and is set to remain at Chelsea.

It has been almost two seasons since the English younger has been playing for the blues. However, he has not been able to replicate the success he shared with the Etihad giants.

He still has two and a half years remaining on his contract and hopes to achieve major victories at Stamford Bridge. This information comes from the Evening Standard.

In Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Leicester City, Sterling had a mixed performance. Although he missed two big chances, including a penalty, and lost possession 14 times, he created one big chance and provided an assist for Cole Palmer’s strike, doubling Chelsea’s advantage.

He had just 40 touches and completed one of his four dribbles, but his contribution to the team cannot be underestimated.

Despite being jeered by some Chelsea fans, Sterling apologized on social media and received support from his teammates, including Palmer, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Enzo Fernandez, and Nicolas Jackson.

Although there have been speculations about his long-term future at the Bridge, Sterling remains a valuable player to the team, and his performance will undoubtedly improve.

Fans Boo Raheem Sterling after disappointing performance

Raheem Sterling had a bad day playing for Chelsea. During the FA Cup match against Leicester, his performance was not good, and even his fans started booing him.

At the 26th-minute mark, Sterling had an opportunity to give his team a two-goal lead when he was fouled in the box. But when he took the penalty, he didn’t seem comfortable, and the goalkeeper saved his weak attempt.

The English international missed another chance to score, and he even got in the way of a teammate’s shot that was heading towards the goal. However, he managed to assist in the half and set Cole Palmer’s goal.

After the dismal performance, fans booed the winger and even demanded the coach to substitute him. Sterling, the England forward, played until the 86th minute of a match and was then replaced by Noni Madueke. Sterling’s goal is to win over the fans of the Blues, and he is focused on bringing major silverware to west London.

Raheem Sterling’s Chelsea performances are not living off expectations

Sterling’s Chelsea performance could be summarized with his performance against Leicester City. His horrendous free kick-started the boos among Chelsea fans openly voicing their disappointment against the marquee signing.

Many fans at Stamford Bridge have been criticizing Sterling, claiming that he is a selfish player who prioritizes his success over the team’s best interests.

They cite Sterling’s decision to ask Palmer to hand over penalty duties against Leicester City as evidence of this, along with other instances of Sterling shooting rather than passing to Palmer or Nicolas Jackson when he had the opportunity to score in a match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in December.

In July 2022, he completed his move from Manchester City for around 50 million pounds. He was the first signing of the Todd Boehly era, and many fans were excited about the experience and goals he would bring from the champions of Manchester City.

However, after his two seasons, the performance, other than the occasional display, has been nothing short of disappointing.
