American YouTuber Valkyrae recently revealed her decision to re-sign with YouTube despite encountering challenges with the platform.
During a live stream on December 28, 2023, Valkyrae confirmed her decision to renew her contract with YouTube. She stated, “Today, I am excited to announce that I have re-signed to YouTube.”
She continued, “I will be here… for at least a while. I wasn’t going to, like – you know how before we would make YouTube announcements and stuff, and it’d be, like, all crazy and stuff. I was like, ‘I’m just going to tell them I have re-signed to YouTube.’”
Moving on, the social media personality noted that not every live-streaming platform is perfect.
Despite acknowledging this reality, she expressed contentment with YouTube, emphasizing, “I feel pretty comfortable and happy here.”
She also appreciated the platform’s attentiveness to her needs, stating, “YouTube team deals with me in a way that is… that I need, you know? They do listen to my feedback,” providing insight into the platform’s supportive approach to content creators.
Continuing the conversation, Valkyrae shared that she extensively deliberated the prospect of joining Twitch before ultimately reaffirming her commitment to YouTube. Notably, she disclosed engaging in signing discussions with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.
She stated, “I did talk to Twitch. I did! I had a one-on-one conversation with Dan Clancy. He was wonderful as well. I was heavily considering… I was thinking. I was like… what do I do? You know?”
Despite the appeal of other options, Valkyrae concluded, “But ultimately, I feel like… I don’t know. I’m pretty okay here,” offering insight into the factors that contributed to her decision to remain with YouTube.
Following the social media personality’s announcement of re-signing a new YouTube deal, many fans expressed joy over her decision to re-sign with YouTube. One Twitter user said, “Good for YouTube & Valkyrae,” while another fan added, “Glad she’s happy, that’s a W.”
Valkyrae’s journey on YouTube
Initially, Valkyrae embarked on her streaming journey as a Twitch streamer, but in 2020, she made a pivotal shift to YouTube. Upon her move to YouTube, she joined fellow 100 Thieves member CouRageJD, who had signed an exclusive deal with the site in 2019.
Fast forward to January 31, 2022, the content creator released a video on Twitter, unveiling her decision to re-sign with YouTube Gaming.
In the video, she pulls up in a red SUV and steps into what looks like a commercial set. As she talks with the director about ideas for the announcement, she casually says, “It’s okay, I’m just staying on YouTube.”

Later, Valkyrae also candidly shared that one of the motivating factors for her continued collaboration with YouTube was a lucrative contract, acknowledging her responsibility to provide for her family.
However, sometime later, in a live stream, the social media star took a reflective turn, delving into her journey spanning three and a half years on YouTube.
Contrary to expectations, she dropped a bombshell on her streamer friends and fans, revealing that her exclusive association with the platform would end after six months. Fast forward to December 2023, she has re-signed with YouTube.
