Cole Hauser is mourning the loss of his beloved mother, Cass Sperling Warner, aka Cass Warner.

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, the Yellowstone star took to his Instagram handle to share the heartbreaking news of his mother’s death. He posted a picture of him and his now-late mother horseriding on the set of Yellowstone.

In the caption, he announced his mom is dead, and she passed away at the age of 76. He also stated that his mom’s love, kindness, and amazing spirit will not only be missed by his family but by the world and that he knows she will be up in the heavens.

His statement read, “It is with a heavy heart that my mother. Cass Sperling Warner passed away at the age of 76. Her kindness, love, humor and amazing spirit will be missed by not only my family but the world.”

“You have touched so many. I know you will be up in the heavens sitting next to all the great humans that have passed through our earth. We will meet again. Bye for now,” he concluded his heartfelt tribute to his mother along with a red heart emoji.

Following Hauser’s announcement of his mother’s passing, friends and well-wishers filled the comment section with supportive comments. For instance, one Instagram user wrote, “So sorry for your loss- just remember her last breath here, is her first breath there.”

The official Instagram handle of Paramount Network’s American neo-Western drama Yellowstone – in which Hauser portrays the lead role of Rip Wheeler – also commented, “We’re so sorry for your loss, Cole. Sending love to you and your family.”

Similarly, Hauser’s Yellowstone co-star Emerson Miller wrote, “Sending you and your family so much love, Cole. She raised a beautiful man with a heart full of love and kindness.”

Furthermore, other comments from the actor’s well-wishers read, “I’m so sorry for you and your families loss. Sending love and prayers to all of you” and “Oh Cole. I’m so sorry. I’ve been thinking about her lately. We’re sending you guys so much Love.”

As of this writing, there have been no further revelations about the death of Hauser’s mother, including her official cause of death and more. The actor has decided to maintain privacy over those details, which might remain that way until the foreseeable future.

Speaking a little of Hauser’s mother, Cass was a filmmaker who had been a part of the entertainment industry for almost her whole life. Cass – who mainly worked as a producer, writer, and director – was exposed to the industry from childhood.

Cass was a third-generation filmmaker, with her grandfather being Harry Warner — Harry was one of the founders of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. in 1923. Cass even wrote and directed The Brothers Warner documentary about her family in 2007.

Regarding Cass and Hauser’s mother-son relationship, they were very close and shared many beautiful moments. One of those moments was shared by the actor via his Instagram handle on September 9, 2022.

Hauser had taken his mother for a horse ride at the spectacular Chief Joseph Ranch in Montana, which also served as a filming location for Yellowstone. He posted a picture from that day on Instagram, where Hauser and Cass smiled as the former gently placed his arm around her.

Alongside the sweet picture, he wrote, “Momma, I’m so happy to have this time with you. Let’s keep riding in life. Love ya!” Later, Cass also posted a picture from that day and described the moment.

She wrote, “Earlier pleasure moments brought back as the first thing I saved my money to buy was a horse! Riding into the mountains was my favorite escape and exercise in collecting great peace of mind! Mothered by Nature!”

Unfortunately, less than two years later, Hauser posted the same picture from that day to announce that his mother was dead. We send our heartfelt regards to Hauser and his family as they mourn the loss of a beloved family member.
