Former American soccer player Ashlyn Harris recently responded to her ex-wife Ali Krieger’s SELF interview regarding their divorce.

Krieger revealed that she discovered Harris filed for divorce while on the field. Expressing surprise about finding herself in this situation, she emphasized, “I’m in this transitioning phase, so I’m unarmoring myself.”

She added, “I have been bare for the past five months — walking through it, feeling all the things, and gaining tools to be the woman I’ve always known was there.”

Harris and Krieger initially met while playing for the United States National Team in 2010. After being in a romantic relationship for nearly a decade, the duo announced their engagement in March 2019 and married in December of the same year.

Throughout their time together, they also welcomed two children. However, after just four years into their marriage, Harris filed for divorce at the end of September 2023.

The Daily Mail also reported that the former soccer player allegedly ended her relationship with Krieger just after returning from that trip, catching her off guard. However, other sources clarified that Harris’s relationship with Bush had only begun a few weeks prior.
