Sofia Reyes recently released her studio album MILAMORES, which captures her journey of self-discovery and healing after going through what she calls the most difficult break up of her life.
In an interview with People, the Mexican pop sensation revealed during the writing process of the album, she found peace and healing after a break up she faced three years ago.
The album represented the blossoming of Reyes, an album born from the idea that beauty can emerge from the ashes of heartbreak and challenging life moments.

“It’s the flowers that blossom from a heartbreak or from a hard moment in your life,” the singer told the outlet. She also explained how her previous album, Mal de Amores, was a reflection of her heartbreak.
MILAMORES, on the other hand, signified her return to herself, a reconnection and healing of her inner child, resulting in a happier and healthier state of mind. She hopes that her music, through this album, can offer a path to healing for her listeners.
Each song on the album was created with the intention of incorporating sound bowls and healing instruments as backing, even within reggaeton tracks.
Reyes candidly spoke about the heartbreak she endured, an experience that lasted for almost two years, where the emotional pain was palpable.
She noted, “This one heartbreak that I lived lasted for almost two years,” she says. “It was the longest heartbreak ever. I could physically feel the pain. I understood what a heartbreak was.”
Yet, amid this anguish, she discovered the beauty of personal growth and self-improvement, recognizing that life’s most challenging moments often lead to the most beautiful transformations.
The pop sensation also shared her personal method for healing a heartbreak, which included tequila and good music. Among the tracks, ‘Delirio’ holds a special place in her heart, as it serves as a conversation with her inner child, reminding herself of her brilliance.
If she could offer advice to her younger self, Reyes would emphasize the importance of patience and enjoying the journey, even during moments of discomfort.
For her, it’s about embracing the process and finding joy every step of the way, acknowledging that life’s challenges are an integral part of growth and self-discovery.

Reyes has openly expressed her affection for Montaner and his entire family, considering them to be an integral part of her life. In an interview in August 2021 via Hola, she affectionately referred to her former boyfriend as a “friend for life.”
She also conveyed her admiration for him, both as a person and as an artist, highlighting the significant impact he has had on her life and her personal growth during their time together.
Reyes also shared her sentiments about the Montaner family, with whom she has developed a special bond. She described them as the best, noting the incredible love and positive energy they radiate, and how their presence in her life has been a source of joy and inspiration.
