Television personality Sarah Herron has recently shared her experience with skin cancer surgery, including the removal of cancerous cells from under her eye.

Herron took to Instagram to share photos of the incision and offer an explanation to her followers about what happened and how she ended up needing surgery.

She said, “I wish I had a good before photo of what it looked like. It was a very tiny little red spot that was a little bit raised. I had it for about four or five years, I had it for a long time. I thought it was maybe just a wart. I didn’t know.”

The Bachelor’s Star also recounted how she asked her dermatologist to examine the small red spot under her eye while having her stitches checked for another skin cancer that had been removed. The dermatologist confirmed that the spot was indeed another basal cell skin cancer.

Additionally, the television personality took the opportunity to share that she believes her multiple skin cancer procedures were due to her past use of tanning beds.

Herron provided further details on her skin cancer surgery and shared that, despite the size of the incision being no larger than a pencil eraser, the procedure required a long cut under her eye and along her eyelashes to create a triangular flap that could be pulled over the incision to close it up.

She explained that this approach was necessary to prevent scrunching that could have occurred if they had taken the skin from the top.

Likewise, The Bachelor Star continuously kept her followers informed of her progress after the surgery and shared that the swelling had gone down significantly by the following night. By 48 hours post-surgery, she felt optimistic that the incision would heal properly.

On May 11, 2022, Herron shared an Instagram story where she posted a picture taken last summer that showed the little red spot under her eye. She marked the spot in the picture and wrote a message directed at those asking about it.

In a subsequent Instagram story on the same day, the television personality zoomed in on the red spot and explained that it had been a small, raised, pinkish/flesh-toned bump she had had for so long she couldn’t remember not having it.

She had never been concerned about it until about six weeks prior when she got sick, and her immune response caused the bump to flare up, become red, and start bleeding, which made her realize that something was wrong.

However, this is not the first time Herron has openly discussed her health issues with her fans. She has a history of sharing about her health, including fertility, egg freezing, limb differences, and mental health.

On January 28, 2023, Herron and her fiancé Dylan Brown tragically lost their newborn son Oliver just hours after his birth. In an Instagram post on March 31, 2023, she revealed that she had been suffering from persistent bleeding and anemia since Oliver’s premature birth at 24 weeks.

In addition to the persistent bleeding and anemia, Herron revealed that her body has been unsure if she is still pregnant, with signs of her pregnancy disappearing on the outside while parts of the placenta remained inside.

She shared that having the placenta stuck in her body made her feel as if she was still stuck in the trauma of her labor and postpartum, with conflicting emotions of wanting to keep a piece of Oliver with her and wanting to move on.

Furthermore, Herron revealed that she had undergone surgery to remove the large placenta fragment, which went smoothly, and she is recovering well.
