Exciting news has emerged in the entertainment world as reports suggest that the esteemed actress Jodie Foster has been cast in the highly anticipated Season 5 of Netflix’s hit series, Stranger Things.

An insider spilled compelling information suggesting that a former child star turned award-winning actress is set to make a cameo appearance in the series.

An insider said, “I have it on excellent authority that a former child star turned award-winning actress will make a cameo in the fifth and last season of a tremendously popular show who is supposedly coming out in the next few years.”

The insider also expressed that the “said actress” played a famous detective in a notorious film that made headlines when it came out in the early nineties.

Similarly, another insider stepped forward, revealing intriguing information from sources on the set of Stranger Things. 

According to this insider, their friend, who works as a makeup artist on the show, has obtained insider knowledge from cast members and producers. 

It is claimed that a renowned actress from the 1980s has been cast in the role of a beloved character’s mother. 

Based on the information gathered, the insider strongly suggested Jodie Foster may be joining the cast of Stranger Things Season 5.

The insider said, “The character is incredibly popular despite being very new to the show, so from what I’ve gathered it sounds like Jodie Foster might be in season 5 of Stranger Things.”

This revelation has sparked excitement and speculation, as Foster’s potential involvement promises to bring an additional layer of depth and nostalgia to the acclaimed series.

Stranger Things writers respond to Jodie Foster casting rumors

When the rumors of Foster reportedly being cast in the fifth season of Stranger Things started to spread like wildfire, news outlet Giant Freaking Robot also chimed in by reporting it and posted the said-article on Twitter.

When the tweet gained more attraction from Twitterattis, the writers of the hit Netflix show, who run a Twitter handle under the username @strangerwriters, decided to respond to those rumors and stop them before it was too late.

They to Giant Freaking Robot’s tweet with a three-word sentence, with their response being, “no she’s not.” Giant Freaking Robot then replied, “We’ll mark it down in the loss column then and tell this source we won’t trust them going forward. Thanks!”

After that, the writers once again tweeted back, “Or you could, you know, work to confirm information provided by your sources before blasting it out onto the internet. It would drastically improve your hit ratio, as well as being the right thing to do.”

After the official confirmation, the buzz surrounding these rumors has been silent, and Giant Freaking Robot has also deleted its original tweet. To conclude, the casting rumor was nothing more than a hoax.

When will Stranger Things season 5 be released?

There is no official release date for Stranger Things Season 5. In an interview with GQ, David Harbour, who plays Chief Hopper, said that the earliest estimate for the release of Stranger Things Season 5 is likely to be in 2024. 

Harbour suggested that filming for the fifth season would commence the following year after the completion of the writing process in 2023. 

Harbour said, “I think we’ll [shoot] next year. They’re finishing writing it this year, and they need to prep and stuff, so hopefully, it’ll be this year. But I think that’s the plan. So it’d probably come out mid-2024, based on our track record.”

That being said, a potential hindrance emerged in May 2023 when the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) voted to strike, advocating for fairer wages and addressing crucial issues faced by TV and screenplay writers.

The Duffer brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, through the show’s official Twitter account that they would halt production. 

They expressed their excitement to commence production but acknowledged that it was not possible amidst the strike, which further extended the release date for Stranger Things Season 5.

How many episodes will Stranger Things season 5 have?

The tweet featured a  of a whiteboard divided into eight distinct columns, each labeled as episode 1 to episode 8.

While specific details about the individual episodes remain undisclosed, they later the title of episode 1 of season 5, which is ‘Chapter One: The Crawl.’
