On June 18, 2023, Star went on TikTok live with drama commentator Rich Lux and fellow YouTuber and Streamer Eugenia Cooney. The trio talked about Colleen and the controversy surrounding her.

Star pointed out that he did not follow drama anymore and was not educated about the controversy. He said he had “never met her, never followed her, and never gave a dame about her.”

He then said that he was horrified by all the accusations surrounding Colleen. He called her sick and noted that he had never been her fan.

“I am horrified by the things I have seen. Honestly, I know we’re all joking around and having fun but like, that person is sick. I have never been a fan – so I was very shocked to see all that. That’s my official quote to Rich Lux,” he commented.

Cooney also chimed into the topic and gave her opinion. She said, “It’s so scary that there are some people on the internet who are doing such horrible things.”

The Colleen Ballinger controversy

Accusations against Colleen started in 2020 when a former fan and YouTuber, Adam McIntyre, spoke up against her. He accused her of grooming him and pointed out that her behavior towards her fans was not good.

However, nobody believed McIntyre. Many of Colleen’s fans defended her and accused McIntyre of lying.

As a result, the video’s buzz and controversy quickly faded and were forgotten. This was until McIntyre published another video about Colleen on June 4, 2023.

Now, three years later, many fans have come forward and accused Colleen, Rachel, and DeSoto of grooming and bullying them.

McIntyre discussed his connection with Colleen and how he believed she was exploiting him and other followers for her convenience in the hour and 20-minute video.

On June 7, 2023, McIntyre released another video explaining his relationship with Colleen, including how he was part of a group chat with the YouTuber and other followers.

Colleen was already in her 30s at the time of these talks, and most of the fans in the chat were allegedly between the ages of 14 and 16. On the other hand, Colleen continued to comment about their attractiveness, encourage bullying, and ask improper questions, such as when they lost their virginity and what their first periods were like.

McIntyre also displayed numerous screenshots from his time in the group conversations, including Colleen asking some strange and improper questions. These have also been published on McIntyre’s Twitter, where he has been discussing his connection with Colleen.

McIntyre also claimed that the YouTuber would employ love-bombing to make him feel special, complimenting and urging him to administer her social media accounts for free. This was the end of their friendship.

After the two were no longer in contact, McIntyre realized that Colleen had been grooming him all along. Many complained that McIntyre spoke up against the YouTuber because the two were no longer friends.

As a result, they called him a clout chaser and did not believe in him. But now, many have supported McIntyre.

Since he spoke out about his experience with Colleen, several former fans and followers of the online personality have spoken out about being groomed or exploited by her.

Moreover, many shared screenshots of their text with Rachel and DeSoto, pointing out they were as guilty as Colleen. At the time of writing, Colleen, Rachel, and DeSoto have not addressed the controversy.
