Cody Orlove Faces Criticism from Fans amid Accusations of Queerbaiting

Cody Orlove, a well-known social media star, found himself at the heart of controversy when he posted a picture of himself with someone who appeared to be Zephan Clark on Snapchat. 

While Orlove appeared to be kissing the man in the photo, in reality, his thumbs were covering the other man’s lips, and he wrote, “10/17/23.”

The picture was promptly shared by the tea page teatoktalk, and it didn’t take long for fans to accuse him of queerbaiting in the comments section.

The term queerbaiting is described as when someone deliberately hints at or suggests LGBTQ+ content or relationships for attention without genuine representation of the LGBTQ+ community.

Fans were not happy with his behavior, with one expressing their discontent, saying, “When will people realize queer baiting is disrespectful?”

Another fan expressed, “Queer baiting at its finest. You can literally tell. He has his thumbs in front of his mouth.” “okay time to block him. queerbaiting isn’t cool,” another angry fan noted.

Who is Zephan Clark?

Clark, known by his TikTok handle, zephanclark, is a TikTok sensation. His engaging videos have successfully garnered the attention of a massive audience, with an impressive 2.9 million fans.

Clark is recognized for his entertaining lip-sync performances, often set to popular pop songs, which contributed to his rise to prominence on TikTok. 

He is also known for his willingness to collaborate with fellow social media stars, further expanding his reach and influence. His path in the digital world began with YouTube before he rose to stardom on TikTok. 

In terms of his personal life, the TikTok star relocated to New Zealand with his parents and his sister, Asha. 

His dating history has also drawn attention from his followers, as he previously dated famous social media personalities, including Mars, Zoe LaVerne, and Mia Austin.

Orlove and LaVerne, two well-known social media personalities, were in an on-and-off relationship for around three years.

However, they surprised their fans by sharing a video that implied they had wed. Orlove posted a video titled, ‘WE GOT MARRIED! Cody & Zoe’s Official Wedding Video’, on February 13, 2020. 

The two could be seen exchanging wedding vows in the video. However, it was made clear in the video that they were getting married for only 24 hours because they stated that they wanted to try. 

However, the couple eventually parted ways. Orlove, in a now-deleted Instagram post, shared his feelings, saying, “A lot has happened in the last few weeks, and it’s been really hard for me, and Zoe for sure.” 

LaVerne, on the other hand, pointed to a different reason for their separation, claiming that they had “fallen out of love.”

Orlove, after his breakup with Zoe LaVerne, began dating Tess Krauser in 2020. They frequently flaunted their relationship on Instagram and other social media platforms. 

However, click-baiting was a common part of their social media presence, which led to rumors among them. They occasionally made pregnancy hints, and at other times, there were rumors of their engagement. 

Moreover, Orlove went down on one knee and presented Krauser with a ring, sparking widespread belief that he was proposing and that they were engaged. However, he clarified that it was more like a promise ring rather than an engagement.

However, their relationship eventually ended. On July 3, 2023, the former pair made a video together, captioning it “we broke up,” to share the news of their separation with their fans. 

Orlove explained that the breakup had occurred a few weeks prior while Krauser was in Israel, and he was in the United States. 

They expressed that one of the major reasons for their split was the fundamental differences in their communication styles, which stemmed from their respective upbringings. 

They emphasized that their breakup was not due to cheating, pregnancy, or any other sensationalized rumors.
