Brayden Bowers, the charismatic star from The Bachelorette Season 20, recently sat down for an exclusive chat on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, where he talked about the meaning behind his goofy earrings.

These earrings caught fans’ attention after Night 1 of the show, prompting co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt to inquire about the meaning behind his earrings.

Bowers candidly revealed that his earrings had a deeper meaning than merely being a fashion choice.

The star revealed that during his time in the Army, wearing earrings was prohibited, along with having long hair and unkempt facial hair.

He said, “I was in the Army and in the Army you aren’t allowed to wear earrings. You’re also not allowed to have long hair and you have to keep your facial hair tight and right.”

Upon leaving the military, he decided to fully express himself by piercing his ears and selecting the “craziest earrings” he could find.

Bowers expressed his preference for dangly earrings and emphasized that he found them goofy and capable of making others “comfortable to smile.”

Pitt chimed in, expressing her admiration for his earrings and suggesting they likely sparked intriguing conversations with strangers.

The 24-year-old star agreed wholeheartedly, affirming that his earrings served as a good conversation starter, one of his favorite aspects of wearing them.

Amabile shifted the conversation toward online negativity and questioned whether any criticism about his earrings would lead him to reconsider wearing them.

In response, Bowers shared that despite his love and admiration for his father, his father often took it upon himself to remind him about his unconventional choice of earrings.

With his father’s teasing, he had already heard every comment people might throw at him online. Therefore, any negative remarks from strangers held no weight and would not sway his decision to continue sporting earrings.

He said, “He’ll [Bowers’ father ] tell me every time he sees me, ‘Bro, what’s up with your earrings?’ So anything that people say online, I’ve already heard from my dad, you guys are good to go.”
