After five years of dating and a sweet engagement, Bel Powley and Douglas Booth tied the knot in their hometown but with a touch of adventure in London on October 28, 2023.

The wedding ceremony kicked off with an intimate rehearsal dinner on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Café Cecilia in Hackney alongside their close families, bridesmaids, and groomsmen.

After a day of relaxation on Friday, the wedding took place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond, London, a renowned Michelin Green Star restaurant.

“Petersham is a beautiful venue, and we fell in love with the chic but incredibly relaxed vibe there,” the Benidorm star told Vogue

Powley’s wedding attire was a dream come true, as she wore a Miu Miu wedding dress that she had always envisioned. Her close friend Cher Coulter, who also served as her stylist, guided her through the selection process.

The dress featured a simple yet unique design with thin straps, a square neckline, a tight bodice, and a bell-shaped skirt adorned with crystals and organza flowers.

For jewelry, she chose long pearl earrings by Sophie Bille Brahe, and she wore a garter with her mother’s wedding earrings and a blue ribbon sewn into it.

The bride’s hair and makeup were done by Celia Burton and Marcus Francis, both close friends. Powley’s hair was elegantly pulled back, with intricate floral twists incorporating the same flowers from her dress.

Booth looked dapper in a blue suit, complementing his wife’s elegant attire. The wedding ceremony was informal and joyful, with their best friend Alice officiating their wedding.

When rain began to fall after the ceremony, everyone hurried to the old Routemaster London buses. Guests were entertained by two drag queens on their journey to the Institute of Contemporary Arts for a lively dance party.

The main room was adorned with three large rotating disco balls, creating a magical atmosphere for the couple’s first dance to Etta James’ ‘I Just Want to Make Love to You.’

For this part of the celebration, she changed into her after-party look, inspired by a design from Miu Miu’s spring 2021 collection, but remade in white with crystals and embellishments.

Gemma Chan, Christain Cooke, Aliyah Odoffin, Marli Siu, Emma Appleton, and many more raised in toasts marked the beginning of their new chapter in life.

Bel Powley and Douglas Booth’s relationship timeline

Powley and Booth first met on the sets of the 2017 movie Mary Shelley. In the movie, Booth played Percy Bysshe Shelley, while Powley portrayed Claire Clairmont.

While their characters were not love interests in the movie, their love story blossomed behind the scenes. In an interview with Browns Fashion Magazine, Powley couldn’t contain her excitement when asked about their first meeting.

She said, “Yeah, in 2016. He was playing Percy Shelley, and Elle Fanning was playing Mary; I played Claire Clairmont, Mary’s stepsister. That’s when we fell in love – ahhh!”

Since their initial meeting, Powley and Booth have been inseparable. However, they have managed to keep most of the details of their relationship private.

As their relationship continued to grow, Booth decided that it was time to take the next big step in their journey together. On July 3, 2021, he took to Instagram to share the happy news of their engagement.

In a series of posts, he first posted a selfie with Powley, proudly displaying her engagement ring. The subsequent images revealed that he had proposed during a romantic picnic on Primrose Hill in London.

Powley also took to her own Instagram to share the exciting news with her fans. She shared adorable photos, showcasing their happiness.
