The Rock once again made fun of Cody Rhodes’ family members at the edition of SmackDown.

At Blue Brand’s show tonight, The Rock took a significant shot at the WWE RAW starts before appearing in SmackDown. He also mocked Rhodes’ dog Pharaoh. It seems like the rivalry became more personal.

“Cody Rhodes, you chicken s*** goof. You, and also your goofy a** dog Pharaoh, that is his name? Pharaoh. Don’t call that dog Pharaoh, call him s*** head. That is what you should call him”, said The Rock.

WWE legend Rikishi has reacted to The Rock’s unhinged promo on social media, in which he threatened Rhodes’ mother. Rikishi shared the promo on his Instagram.

The Rock cut another social media promo last night and took a massive shot at Cody for crying on live TV.

The Rock said to Rhodes’ mom, “And that’s how you end a story. And that is how, Cody Rhodes, your story is going to end at WrestleMania, boy. Crying in a pool of your own blood and this belt sitting in your momma’s lap.

He continued, “And Mama Rhodes, don’t worry. There are two things that you can do about it: Nothing and like it. Cody Rhodes, at WrestleMania, your story is going to end courtesy of Roman Reigns and courtesy of your nightmare. The Final Boss. If ya’ smell what The Rock is cooking”.

In the statement, he has called himself “The Final Boss”.

Why did The Rock turn heel?

The Rock’s sudden heel turn and his teaming up with Roman Reigns have surprised many wrestling observers.

After a WrestleMania press conference that was promised to be ‘historic’ by The Rock, the wrestling world is once again drooling at the prospect of the heel ‘Corporate Champion’ aiding his cousin Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes at WWE WrestleMania 40.

Fans have received Rock’s heel turn positively after the negative reaction to his insertion into Mania’s main event, and Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that several factors influenced Rock’s character change.

WWE decided that these factors – coupled with the adverse reaction to the original WrestleMania course change – made a heel turn necessary, as they didn’t want Rock booed as a babyface.

The Rock has said he is ‘very happy’ to lean into the boots and portray a heel for the first time in decades, with both sides making the best of an undesired situation.

Meltzer’s report further states that ‘there is said to be far more behind the scenes that haven’t come out but given the timing can’t be talked about now’ and that Rock not only pitched his heel turn but allegedly pitched Rock & Reigns vs. Rhodes and Seth Rollins for WrestleMania XL night one.

Cody Rhodes’s return and his story at WrestleMania 40

Rhodes finally finishes his story by defeating Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The main event of WrestleMania 40 seemed all but guaranteed when the Tribal Chief and the American Nightmare had their epic stare-down on SmackDown this past October, just received a violent shove into uncertainty.

Even after his devastating defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns last year, Cody Rhodes has remained one of WWE’s consistent needle movers and top merchandise sellers.

His work rate in 2023 was unmatched. On top of competing in a company-best 113 matches last year, Rhodes was the face of countless community and charity events for WWE. He’s worked the WWE Champion schedule without being the WWE Champion.

Rhodes has been selected for the WrestleMania 40.

A storyline focusing on Rhodes’s quest to capture the championship at WrestleMania 40 could be a compelling narrative, perhaps culminating in a match against a dominant champion, offering a classic underdog story or a redemption arc.
