Giorgia Whigham is an American actress best known for playing the role of Kat in 13 Reasons Why’s first season, Amy Bendix in The Punisher’s second season, and Beth in Scream’s third season.

Currently, she is making headlines for portraying Blaire Bennett in Ted. Since then, people have been curious about her personal life, including her family, parents, siblings, and their ethnicity. Here is all we know about them!

Giorgia Whigham’s family explored

Giorgia was born to her parents, Christine Whigham and Shea Whigham. While not much is known about her mother, Giorgia can often be seen posting pictures with her mom on her Instagram handle, gushing about how much she loves her.

Her father, on the other hand, is a famous actor who has been in numerous movies and TV series like Boardwalk Empire, American Hustle, The Wolf of Wall Street, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Fast & Furious, Fast & Furious 6, and F9, among others.

Giorgia and her father are the only ones in their family who are involved in the entertainment sector. Except for these two, not much is known about their family.

Apart from her parents, Giorgia has three siblings, and by the looks of it, it seems like all her siblings are brothers. Since her siblings are not in the entertainment sector, there is no information about them.

That said, one of her brothers is named Jack, and he is Giorgia’s younger brother. She seems to be close with her younger brother, as she often posts photos of her baby brother on her social media handle.

Likewise, on March 14, 2020, she uploaded black and white photos of all her siblings on her Instagram handle with the caption, “Sibling appreciation post taken by @faux_reste.”

But as said before, not much is known about them since they live out of the spotlight. 

Coming over to ethnicity, Giorgia’s family’s ethnicity is mixed. According to the EthnicityCelebs, their ethnicity is English, Scottish, remote Welsh, French, and possibly remote Creek Native American.

Giorgia Whigham’s father Shea Whigham’s career

Giorgia’s dad, Shea, was born in Tallahassee, Florida, to his parents, Frank and Beth. His family relocated to Lake Mary, Florida, when he was five years old.

He went to Lake Mary High School and attended Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, before transferring to the State University of New York at Purchase, where he was part of a small acting program with only 31 students and an eight-senior graduation class.

After graduation, Shea co-founded the Rorschach Group, a theatre ensemble in New York City, with his college friend Kirk Acevedo and worked as an actor and creative director there for three years.

He started his journey in the entertainment industry in the late 90s, where he was featured in one episode of the 1997 television series Ghost Stories before landing a lead role in the 2000 film Tigerland.

He later appeared in Submerged, R.U.S./H., and Paradise before starring in the 2003 film All the Real Girls. From 2004 to 2006, he featured in the Japanese film Out of This World, the drama television series Medical Investigation, and the films Water, Man of the House, Faith of My Fathers, Lords of Dogtown, Psychic Driving, and South of Heaven.

As years passed, Shea appeared in Pride and Glory and co-starred in the horror picture Splinter, the thriller Creek, and the science fiction film Radio Free Albemuth. For the duration of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire, he played Elias “Eli” Thompson, the sheriff of Atlantic County, New Jersey.

In 2014, he played Joel Theriot, a disillusioned former clergyman, in HBO’s True Detective. Likewise, he appeared in two episodes of FX’s Justified in 2015. Between 2012 and 2017, he appeared in various films, including The Wolf of Wall Street, American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, Term Life, and Kong: Skull Island.

In 2018, he starred in Sicario: Day of the Soldado, First Man, and Bad Times at the El Royale. In 2019, he played GCPD Detective Burke in Warner Bros./DC Comics’ psychological thriller Joker

He also played Ray Liptrapp in both seasons of HBO’s Vice Principals, Fargo, and the miniseries Waco. He co-starred with Julia Roberts in the television series Homecoming, for which he was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. 

In 2020, he was cast as Pete Strickland in HBO’s remake of Perry Mason. From 2020 to 2023, he worked on TV shows like Gaslit, Waco: TheAftermath, The Righteous Gemstones, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

Similarly, from 2020 to 2023, he worked on multiple movies, including The Quarry, Vampires vs. the Bronx, F9, The Gateway, Small Engine Repair, South of Heaven, The Gray Man, Fancy Dance, Eileen, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

Giorgia made her acting debut in the 2016 short film Pinky, which co-starred Ellery Sprayberry. Following her acting debut, she landed roles on Shameless, Son of Zorn, 13 Reasons Why, and The Orville.

On September 13, 2017, it was reported that Giorgia would become a series regular on the third season of VH1’s slasher television series Scream, where she played the role of Beth.

Giorgia’s appearance in the second season of Netflix’s The Punisher was revealed on February 26, 2018. In 2019, she co-featured in the film Saving Zoë, an adaptation of Alyson Noël’s bestselling young adult novel of the same title. 

Furthermore, she appeared in the first and third seasons of The Orville as Lysella in 2017 and 2022, respectively. In 2022, she was cast as Blaire Bennett in the Peacock series Ted, a television prequel to the film of the same name.
